Senior Allocations Analyst
Franklin Lakes, NJ

We are the makers of possible: Laser-focus on Supporting Customers

Barbara Sammarone worked in Procurement for 20 years during her first time around with BD. In 2005, she re-joined the organization in a part-time Marketing role.

Today, she works as a Senior Allocation Analyst in the US Supply Chain Operations function where she interacts daily with BD salespeople, product managers, customer support and transportation. Her role is to help customers in North America get the products and solutions they need to provide a high level of care for patients.

“I feel my role is critical to BD and to our customers,” said Barbara. “My job is to make sure we allocate enough inventory to keep our customers equipped with BD products so the flow of patient care isn’t disrupted. It’s important that I know our customers and distributors inside and out so that they have what they need.”

Barbara said no two days are necessarily alike, and part of what makes working at BD exciting is that she and her team are often presented with urgent or special requests that take some time to work through with her BD colleagues.

“One of the things I value at BD is the sense of support, trust, and collaboration here. I feel that all of us are very dedicated and customer-focused, which is a great work environment. I love to problem-solve and in the end, it feels wonderful when you’ve been able to help a customer,” concluded Barbara.
