Inventory Clerk

Job Description Summary

The primary responsibilities of this position are twofold. It encompasses the entering of daily production data in SAP, and the completion (TECO) of orders. It is also responsible for maintaining accurate, and adequate, inventory levels in the Parts Crib in an effort to support plant needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enters daily/shift production information into SAP for all production departments.  Completes data reconciliation and technical completion (TECO) of production orders.

  • Works to clarify and resolve any questions or concerns regarding production data with relevant production associates.

  • Communicates production data entry issues to SAP Data Coordinator/Relief Operator.

  • Receives Parts Crib items into SAP, as needed.  

  • Stores parts in designated locations.  Repackages into small unit quantities, if necessary.  Keeps track of storage locations and overflow areas.

  • Works with Receiving Coordinator and SSC (Shared Service Center) Buyer to resolve receiving issues.

  • Maintains stocking locations in an organized manner and adjust to flex with inventory levels.

  • Ensures presence of bin card(s) within each parts bin or at part location.

  • On a daily basis, keys all checked out parts into SAP in order to adjust inventory. 

  • Conducts visual inventory of empty bins/locations to maintain strong awareness of inventory status.

  • Has parts/materials checked out and awaiting pick up at entryway of Parts Crib, as needed.  Whenever possible, deliver parts to needed areas to facilitate the reduction of downtime.

  • Research new part requests and sets-up new parts as necessary.

  • Prepares purchase requisitions to replenish stocking quantities.

  • Conducts cycle counting of inventory per established guidelines.

  • Keeps Parts Crib clean and orderly. Vacuums and clean as needed.

  • Three month training period

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred.

  • Must be able to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts.  

  • Computer and SAP experience required. 

  • Familiarity with all manufacturing equipment, various names, functions, and locations preferred.
