As the VP Business Development you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and shaping the future of pharmacy automation solutions within MMS and the customer’s we serve, including retail pharmacies, health systems and other national providers of pharmaceutical medications to patients. Our portfolio offerings today include both medication packaging solutions spanning vial preparation and compliance packaging, including both pouch and blister, as well as centralized fulfillment capabilities supporting a centralized medication filling environment.  Your primary focus will be on cultivating business development opportunities for our Parata Systems product line and building longer term plans and strategy for the global pharmacy automation platform, which includes our BD Rowa medication storage solutions based in Germany. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong industry and customer knowledge, fostering industry partnerships and positioning our organization as a leader in this transformative field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities related to pharmacy automation.
    • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders within the industry.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create tailored solutions that address client needs, shape go to market strategies, and support partnership or contract negotiations.
    • Drive revenue growth by expanding the adoption of pharmacy automation products and services.
  • Market Shaping:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, gaps in the marketplace, and technological advancements.
    • Influence market perception and shape industry direction through thought leadership, key partnerships and KOL.
    • Leverage data and insights to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation.
    • Collaborate with marketing, product and sales teams to position our offerings effectively and enhance brand visibility.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy.
    • Set clear goals and KPIs for market penetration, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.
    • Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Work closely with executive leadership to align business development efforts with overall company objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the sales teams supporting national accounts, understanding their pain points and aspirations.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales cycle.
    • Foster long-term partnerships to drive customer loyalty and retention.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Convince others to adopt new approaches and embrace change.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the cross functional team.
    • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and forums.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field required.
  • MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, preferably within pharmacy automation or related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully closing complex deals and exceeding revenue targets through market shaping in a greenfield marketplace.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Visionary and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive transformational change for our customers.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This will be a field-based role with travel of 25%+ to Durham, our global Parata HQ, and customer sites expected.
