This leader is responsible for the development of and drives the execution of marketing programs and initiatives on a global basis in support of the IDS informatics business. Emphasis is on marketing management, primarily responsible for leading the global product line(s) marketing efforts, developing strategies for profitable growth, software monetization, and developing organizational marketing talent. Works in partnership with other Businesses and Regional Marketing to assure that growth objectives are achieved. This leader is responsible for the development of and drives the execution of marketing programs and initiatives on a global basis in support of the IDS informatics business. Emphasis is on marketing management, primarily responsible for owning marketing efforts, developing strategies for profitable growth, software monetization, and developing organizational marketing talent. Works in partnership with Businesses lines and Regional Marketing to support solutions development and launches to assure that growth objectives are achieved. Establishes and maintains a strong driven edge through and tactical identification of marketing opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/maintain an understanding of current markets, vision of encouraged market evolution with an understanding of the implications on customer needs. This includes assessments for existing products, and new capabilities/applications for informatics platform. 

  • Facilitates sharing of information and standard methodologiesacross Regions to improve business performance, including managing risks & opportunities, build strong global brand equity, and demonstrate pivotal initiatives and promotional spend

  • Develop and execute commercialization strategies to successfully launch Informatics products as part of the different solutions in different regions

  • Develop marketing plans, including market assessment, prioritization and development, sales and marketing tool development, evidence generation etc. 

  • Ensure presence and participation at high-priority conferences, meetings, etc. and drive publications to support defined platform value propositions.

  • Assess and pursue as appropriate co-development, co-marketing and other R&D or commercial collaborations with other BDX businesses and external partners.

  • Support the Global Product Development System (GPDS) process as a core team member (CTM). Core team activities will include coordinating commercialization activities. 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, business administration, computer science, or within a technical area of focus; MBA preferred. 

  • >5 years Proven experience in marketing, marketing and product management in life science companies with a focus on platform development and launch; preferably for an informatics product. 

  • Experience developing and operationalizing subscription and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) pricing model

  • Experience with one or more of the following informatics related technologies – LIS/EMR/Middleware, HL7/ASTM

  • Demonstrated skills in development and execution of successful new product launch plans that have provided rapid, global, market penetration and uptake in fast paced, competitive markets.

  • Strategic agility oriented with the ability to get results. 

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills to translate data into measurable plans; proven track record to and implement strategies, convert them into tactical marketing plans, execute and deliver results.

  • Creative out-of-the-box problem solver who is intellectually curious, stays current on new trends, and takes calculated risks with novel ideas. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-culturally. 

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills - written and oral - for a wide variety of audiences. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop positive relationships with, customers, advisory boards, and potential or existing business partners.

  • Leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to effectively negotiate and persuade others, comfortable with sophisticated and matrixed-team environments.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of challenging priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
