Job Description SummaryThe Manager of Product support for the Molecular Plant will have departmental leadership responsibility for planning, coordinating, and managing technical initiatives. The Product Support team is responsible for the support of New Product Development through manufacturing process development for new Molecular assays and for providing technical support and issue resolution for existing products in the Molecular product portfolio. The Manager of Product Support drives the team to meet the department’s safety, quality, and other key business objectives. Reports directly to the Associate Director of Process Technology.

The Product Support team is responsible for the support of New Product Development through manufacturing process development for new Molecular assays and for providing technical support and issue resolution for existing products in the Molecular product portfolio. Drives the team to meet the department’s safety, quality, and other key business objectives. Reports directly to the Associate Director of Process Technology.
New Product Development and Activities is inclusive but not limited to these Responsibilities and Duties:
Leads a team of Scientists and Process Engineers charged with design transfer from R&D, manufacturing process design, investigation and troubleshooting of existing Molecular product technical issues, and miscellaneous manufacturing technical support of Molecular Plant manufacturing to achieve plant and Business goals.
Lead the planning and directing of Product Support activities to meet quality, cost, and customer service expectations within a safe working environment.
Oversee and Monitor the Operations activities and participates on Program Teams to ensure Operations is developing timelines and meeting deadlines.
Leads cross functional collaboration with the department managers (R&D, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Service, Accounting, etc.), to continuously drive standard methodologies and overall operational excellence.
Inspirational leader that establishes a working environment that fosters participation within and between teams, plants, functions, businesses and divisions within BD.
Provides cross functional communication to teams on the state of the business, plant goals and business strategies.
BS degree in Engineering, Biological Sciences or Business is required.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years leadership experience with direct supervisor responsibility.
Broad knowledge of dedication manufacturing, FDA regulatory requirements, validation concepts and techniques, standard cost accounting, and business finance is required.
Experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, and category management is desirable along with MRP and production order transaction maintenance experience using SAP.
Knowledge and experience with the BD Quality system or equivalent is preferred.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency in interpreting and modeling values, ability to seek input from others, ability to relinquish control, and knowledge of current and anticipated customer needs.
Must demonstrate proven leadership skills capability and ability to mentor, coach, and develop other associates
