Job Description Summary

As part of BDDS’ R&D Engineering team who is responsible for the design and development of World Class In-Vitro Diagnostic Instruments, Lab Automation Systems and Informatics Solutions we are seeking an experienced Sr. Automated Software Test Engineer. In this role, you will play an integral part within the Informatics group in automation-testing software and systems for the Informatics platform as well as supporting the Lab Automation testing effort where needed.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates on Scrum teams with product owners, analysts and developers to understand user stories and requirements.
  • Writes automated tests, scripts and feature files to test those user stories and requirements.
  • Contributes towards building up Continuous Integration and Testing and Deployment capability.
  • Builds, refines and manages a suite of automated regression and performance tests.
  • Creates and maintains documentation related to all automated testing.
  • Works diligently to embed automated testing on a day-to-day basis within sprints.

Qualifications

  • High School degree/GED required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience standing a BDD-based automation-testing framework (Specflow) from ground-up.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an Agile DevOps team environment and testing Web-based applications.
  • Experience working on an Agile Scrum team contributing to sprint planning, estimations and retrospectives.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Specflow or Cucumber.
  • Proficient and able to set up and run automation-testing frameworks like Specflow, Cucumber, Selenium from scratch.
  • Ability to program in C# and JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Ability to understand and write SQL scripts.
  • Good understanding of Web technologies, RESTful APIs and .NET.
  • Experience using TFS/VSTS (now called Azure DevOps) for automated build and deployments.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with FDA regulations for medical instruments, ISO 14971, IEC 62304 standards.
  • Experience with JavaScript testing tools like Jasmine, Mocha or Jest.
  • Familiarity with HL7 and/or ASTM messaging.
  • Familiarity with leading LIS products like Epic or Cerner.
