Job Description Summary

The Manager of Data Engineering will manage the Data Engineering team which will be responsible for data ETL process and for resolving data formatting issues that prevent data elements that are received from customers from being able to be normalized successfully to the MedMined data structure. This position will also be required to work with their clinical counterparts, software engineers, project managers, sales, and other MedMined teams to resolve data integrity issue to the customer's satisfaction and provide management reports and trending.

Job Description

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of Data Engineers who are responsible for the ETL process and development of solutions needed to remedy data normalization issues.   These team members utilize the CorePoint data integration solution in conjunction with SQL, RegEx, and other tools to perform their work.  
  • Responsible for ensuring that the technical output of the Data Engineering team conforms to best practices and standards.
  • Manages and leads the production support aspects of data flow.
  • Work closely with application development and clinical team members to ensure the data delivery requirements are satisfied by the solutions constructed by Data Engineering team.
  • As needed, Manager will be expected to perform hands on development of solutions as well as performance optimization.
  • Partners with other internal stakeholders to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add value.
  • Ongoing development and refinement of framework for enhancing the customer experience through the data mapping process. 
  • Has in-depth functional expertise and broad knowledge of data types used within MedMined suite of products.

  • Influences staff through effective listening and communication to accomplish operational objectives.

    Accountability

  • The successful candidate will work with MedMined Data Engineering team as a subject matter expert of customer expectations.
  • Has the ability to communicate with other MedMined staff and understand their data needs relative to the work they are performing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; superior written communication skills; a detailed understanding of the documentation requirements related to data normalization.
  • Lead team initiatives and execute plans to advance the efficiency of data normalization objectives.
  • Effective communication to the Executive level on customer data issues and resolution.
  • Participate in product quality review and complaint investigation processes as needed.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience working with healthcare clinical data.
  • SQL knowledge required.
  • Integration Engine experience required, CorePoint specific knowledge preferred.  
  • Previous management experience highly preferred. 
  • Strong collaboration skills required.
  • Strong communication skills required (orally and written).
