Job Description Summary

1.1 This position includes a variety of duties within the Material Control areas of Purchasing, Planning and Master Data. This position will support all plant purchasing functions from procurement to project teams. Scheduling responsibilities include ensuring material availability and creation of production orders. Assists with maintenance of the plant’s Master Data in the SAP system.

Job Description

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

Assists in converting requisitions to purchase orders, monitoring and following up on deliveries. 

Maintains vendor master data, and/or work with appropriate buyer to update information.

Initiates return or equivalent settlement for incorrect or defective parts.

Maintains material parameters in conjunction with Purchasing and Master Data to facilitate the needs of the production schedule (safety stock, lot size etc. and other SAP data). 

Acts as Liaison for the Shared Service Center (SSC) on Indirect buying concerns in plant.

Coordinates alternate materials and/or supplier to obtain improvements in quality, cost, and/or inventory reduction.

Represents purchasing on project teams that are introducing new products, changing existing products, and/or purchasing new equipment. 

Plans raw materials and/or components required to meet the production schedule monitoring deliveries and WIP status. 

Creates production orders for subassemblies and finished goods as required.

BuySmart representative for the plant.  Assist with training for BuySmart and also assist with the coordination between buyer, vendor and Shared Service Center (SSC) to resolve invoice/payment issues.

Responsible for the coordination and assembly of the Device History Records (DHR) in the department.  Also acts as the DAFFE system representative for the department.

Review/approve Master Data additions or revisions in the system.

Backs up for appropriate Material Control functions during absences from plant or as directed by the Materials Manager.
