Job Description
Responsible for developing scope of work for different projects including but not limited to the Facilities, Utilities and Manufacturing areas. Define, sequence, and estimate duration for all project activities, develop schedule for each project, estimate cost and determine budget, request capital, and get local and corporate management approval. Coordinate design activities as required, coordinate design review meetings with all stakeholders, coordinate and manage construction activities and meetings, coordinate, and manage any validation activities related to project assigned as required. Work with other functional areas to improve productivity and to comply with regulatory issues within the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Meet with different stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering, environmental/safety and quality, to develop scope of work for different projects as required by the Plan Priority Matrix.
2. Responsible for create project schedule and ensure that all assigned project stays within schedule.
3. Analyze each individual activity and assign cost in order to create the budget baseline. Measure project performance against the cost baseline.
4. Manage budget for each project and develop forecast for the Finance Department.
5. Develop communication plans to establish strategies to ensure that all stakeholders get the information that they need.
6. Identify project resources including physical and staff resources. Assign project roles and responsibilities for all acquired resource.
7. Coordinate and manage risk management workshops with stakeholders to identify risks that could affect the project.
8. Make presentation to Plant Leadership to discuss project scope, project benefit, needs and resources.
9. Coordinate and manage design activities with Architectural and Engineering firms. Analyze, comment and approve design drawings.
10. Work closely with corporate Global Real State and Construction to define bidding process and create construction contracts for all assigned projects.
11. Manage all construction activities and communicate any critical activity that could impact manufacturing areas.
12. Work closely with Quality Department to develop Change Controls and comply with all quality and safety requirements identified for the project. Create and execute validation protocols as required.
13. Perform periodic meetings with BD Leadership to discuss plant metrics.
14. Support safety initiatives to promote a safe environment and prevent accidents.
15. Develop and execute IQ/OQ protocols for new and existing critical utilities equipment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Field.
2. PR Licensed Engineer is highly desirable (EIT as a minimum).
3. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification is required.
B. Experience
1. A Minimum of 10 years' experience in project management methodology and execution in a manufacturing environment related to medical devices and regulated industry.
2. Experience with financial skills such as budget. Must have supervisory experience and managing resources and schedule.
3. Computer Literate (Windows, Internet, MS Office (Word and Excel) and related programs)
4. Fully bilingual, Spanish-English.
