GENERAL FUNCTION

Primary responsibility will be performing Cannula final audit inspection activities necessary for achieving company business objectives (Quality, Safety, Customer service and cost).   This includes but not limited to Quality Notifications for rejected lots, additional testing required for EWO testing and validations.  Must be able to prioritize the workload, meet deadlines and innovate to embrace change.  Sound decision making based on data and business / customer implications.  He/She must have a fundamental knowledge of the quality control procedures, plant work instructions and working knowledge of the Cannula materials with regard to their impact on manufacturing.  Sound oral and written communications skills for creating correspondence for management or customer requests.  Preferred experience with SAP, Excel and Outlook.  Fundamental aspects of process control methods, gauges, inspection equipment, ANSI sampling plans.  Effectively communicates with all levels of Management and Manufacturing, Customers and Auditors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Comply with all local BD Quality policies, procedures and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

2.  Monitor Quality notifications

3.  Support all three business units

4.  Learn and understand all product families and the quality requirements

5.  Identify shifts in quality levels – any deterioration from current

6.  Able to create and interpret trend charts

7.  Ability to read product/component drawings and interpret inspection instructions.  Understand the need to assure   customer is receiving product that meets the specification requirements

8.  Able to perform all computerized systems in process – Bolis and Instron

9.  Basic Statistical Analysis skills

10.  Perform self audits of hold area 

11.  Knowledge of ANSI sampling plans and product disposition

12.  Locate and file inspection records, specifications and appropriate drawings

13.  Record adequate data on inspection forms, review and approve documentation as required

14.  Maintain expertise with inspection equipment

15.  Additional testing requirements for EWO’s and validations

16.  Ability to identify the Cannula requirements of the different Cannula product families

17.  Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proven track record of task completions, high level of performance with evidence of 2-4 years of experience of inspections with an emphasis in Quality Systems.
