Job Description Summary

Primary function of this role is to manage the plant Experimental Work Order (EWO) system. This includes but is not limited to reviewing, writing, planning and executing experimental orders submitted by associates from within the plant and at other BD sites. Strong communication skills are required due to the involvement with associates outside the plant. The EWO coordinator will keep track of the status and location of all order submitted. Duties will span cutting, forming, assembly, packaging, quality, and development engineering. The EWO coordinator will report to the project engineering group and assist the engineers when needed. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Job Description

*JG2 Position*

Manage the plant EWO system and SharePoint. Track and manage the status of all EWOs within the plant. Conduct monthly meetings with plant supply chain and Franklin Lakes to discuss production planning and the impact of EWOs on monthly production numbers. Assist requestors with the EWO submission process. Provide training to the SharePoint and excel form when needed to help requestors understand the process. Write urgent EWO when requested. Have a general understanding of all areas of the plant and the different processes. Work with associates in the specific areas (i.e. engineers, coaches, leads, etc.) when needed to properly execute EWOs within that area. Work with associates in all departments of BD (i.e. worldwide, customer facing, R&D, etc.) to understand requests being submitted to ensure proper product is produced. Communicate the status of EWOs to the requestors and project leaders as needed. Communicate to coaches, leads, production coordinators, and associates how to complete EWOs. Assist production when needed to run EWOs. Handle the packaging and shipment EWOs as needed. Monitor EWOs being stored in the warehouses. Assist in the review and completion of manufacturing documents, including, but not limited to Manufacturing Operator Instructions, Engineering Change Orders, Test Procedures, Quality Control Documents, and Design Specifications. Cooperate and work in harmony with others, including co-workers, management and technical associates. Comply with all policies, procedures, team norms and work rules. Comply with all safety rules and regulations and the job safety analysis.  Follow plant safety and environmental rules and procedures and cooperate fully with the safety and environmental programs(s). Other duties as assigned.

  • Some travel may be required.
  • 2-3 years in a pharmaceutical or medical device business.
