Job Description SummaryThe purpose of this position is to maintain supplier quality for BD Urology and Critical Care, assist BD Corporate Supplier Quality with Quality Systems Management in crafting and maintaining a strategic auditing and sourcing strategy for the Supplier Quality program. This includes partnering with Procurement, Operations and Quality to provide a strategy to protect revenue, bring resolution to supplier issues.

SCHEDULE: HYBRID: 8a-5pm 2-days Onsite, 3 days Remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with defining the strategy for supplier performance.
Facilitates the Supplier Management Committee (SMC) meeting at UCC Division to handle suppliers.
Collaborates with Operations, Quality, and other functions to maintain and improve quality system procedures and processes for Supplier Quality
Under the direction of the SMC team, contributes to the development of supplier QA contracts for critical suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, capacity and manage change control.
Supports supplier relationship management for Urology & Critical Care (UCC).
Reports appropriate metrics/measurements for ongoing supplier analysis to SMC on monthly cadence; escalates issues to management as applicable.
Reviews QA, ISO and other audit reports for suppliers subject to regulations to assist with identification of risks and opportunities.
May perform internal and external Supplier Quality System audits and qualification audits as part of supplier assessment and development.
Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to perform engineering work of a broad nature with minimal direction from Quality Management.
Moderate knowledge and understanding of medical device regulations, industry or international standards. Ability to understand matrix organizations and be able to implement systemic changes to enhance product quality and improve business efficiency. Ability to collaborate with regulatory bodies to present technical information.
Extensive knowledge of quality systems, supplier management.
Has fundamental knowledge of validation principles.
Understands basic applied statistics, statistical sampling plans, and statistical process control and statistical methodologies.
Ability to serve in leadership roles on projects or assignments.
Comprehensive understanding of auditing principles and ability to perform as a lead auditor, if necessary.
Ability to participate and provide leadership on teams and maintain positive work environment with those teams. Understands team functions, leadership techniques and project management methodologies.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and presentation). Understands how to present information dependent upon the level of the audience.
Understands Fundamentals of Engineering Principles.
Ability to optimally manage time.
Ability to balance multiple task assignments.
Ability to translate quality requirements into product specifications.
Ability to interpret Regulations, Corporate, Division and Department Procedures.
B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science
Minimum 1 to 3 years experience with FDA or similarly regulated industry (i.e defense, automotive, etc), experience related to supplier quality preferable
American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification (CQE, CQA, CQM, etc.) preferred
Direct experience with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 compliance is preferred.
