Sr Director, IT Infrastructure & Security Operations

Job Description Summary

The role of the Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure & Security Operations is to serve as a senior-level leader, accountable for the global operation of the organizations network and data center services. Of equal importance this position is accountable for managing and leading an IT security operations team, responsible for system access provisioning, disaster recovery planning and governance, along with monitoring of system and data security compliance and threat response remediation in partnership with the Information Security team and Risk Management organization.

As a key member of the senior IT leadership team this role brings current knowledge and future vision to support the evolution of our core technology operations and leading the improved adoption of new practices and capabilities to mature our overall cybersecurity posture. The role holder is a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure & service partners and will align and partner with other TGS Business Partners and Center of Excellence leads to understand the business needs of the Global organization and share new or existing capabilities that can address or improve business operations.

Job Description

The objective of this role is to actively partner with TGS Business Partners to understand strategic priorities of the organization and engage with Key Technology Vendor and Service Providers to support the build out of technology strategies and plans to enable delivery of core IT services.

  • Daily operations management of all Enterprise Data Centers and the Global network operations.
  • Senior level oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management and input to sourcing strategies.

  • Focus on continuous process improvement and user experience by increasing IT’s value through innovation and emerging technologies.  Modernization of our Data Center strategy, leveraging cloud and other technologies to improve performance and redundancy capabilities while optimizing cost effectiveness.
  • Continuous improvement and optimization of our Enterprise network, building stability, redundancy and improved capacity to support business needs in the area of stability, speed, collaboration, IoT & SMART factory business initiatives.
  • Introduces innovative, differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and enhance employee productivity.

  • Financial management of the technology asset base, supporting the optimization of our technology landscape, along with anticipating budgetary needs.  Working in close alignment with finance and other IT tower teams to meet targets and technology needs.

  • Builds successful stakeholder relationships with other TGS leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs. 
  • Builds successful stakeholder relationships with key Information Security leaders, to ensure alignment and awareness of security requirements are incorporated and upheld.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of comprehensive regional /global security programs, including technologies and tools, architectures and network and application design, and policies / business aspects of risk.
  • Accountable for managing & leading the remediations and ongoing monitoring of identified vulnerability and compliance risk areas across the global IT landscape.
  • Lead the patching governance program which includes the build out of a strategy, and implementation of a roadmap to improve patching levels and processes across the IT landscape.  Achieving a sustainable patching compliance level of 95% across EUC, servers and applications.
  • Translate business needs and regulatory requirements into risk appropriate controls to successfully implement security policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Develops, implements, manages operational reporting to demonstrate compliance and identify areas of improvement
  • Accountable to integrate with Internal Audit, Information Security, and IT Towers to drive and monitor the execution of identified deficiencies or open remediations.  Facilitate the development of integrated solutions.
  • Serves on TGS or BD planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, information security standards, governance processes and performance metrics
  • Senior level oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management and input to sourcing strategies.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, both regional and business experience, exceptional relationship building skills and solution-oriented mindset together.

In addition, this person should also possess:

  • Ten or more years of experience in IT or business/industry
  • Seven or more years of experience managing IT security operations, cybersecurity areas. Inclusive of patching, Disaster Recovery plan / testing management.
  • Ten or more years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting and people leadership
  • 3+ years of experience in IT audit, enterprise risk management, penetration tester, red team/incident responder, or as a junior security operations analyst.
  • 3+ years of experience with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks (such as International Organization for Standardization [IS0] 27000, COBIT, National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] 800)
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging infrastructure & operations technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging Disaster recovery, security and threat vulnerability management practices
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations
  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner
  • Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications
  • Must have experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and have the ability to formulate new programs to generate excitement and engagement
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases

Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field or equivalent work experience
