Description:
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Packaging Engineering principles and techniques
With a cost savings, supply continuity, sustainability and manufacturability mindset, the engineer independently or as a lead:
Identifies, designs, prototypes and qualifies complex new packaging concepts
Evaluates and improves existing packaging concepts
Identifies and evaluates packaging materials and equipment
Addresses complex problems and non-standard situations
May lead teams or projects and is expected to collaborate and share expertise
this position will allow remote working
up to 30% travel, both domestic and international is required.

Applies understanding of cause and effect when analyzing a complex process
Identifies advanced implications/conclusions from the analysis and offers solutions
Tracks internal/external trends and suggests process improvements based on observations
Approaches issues from multiple perspectives and collaborates with internal/external customers to generate practical solutions
Demonstrates understanding of key business drivers
Serves as an expert within a technical area and educates others
Collaborates with all relevant internal/external parties to achieve success
Required Competencies:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineer or related field required
Experience
Minimum 6-8 years technical experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical packaging
Experience managing portfolios from multiples fields, multiples plants with a variety of objectives
Ability to lead project teams toward operational objectives
Specialized Knowledge
Expertise in medical device packaging development for primary (flexible or rigid), secondary and tertiary packaging
Expertise in medical device packaging test methods/standards, processes and related equipment
Medical device packaging system verification and validation experience
Advanced experience with statistics and design of experiments
