Job Description

The Sr. BI Developer is an experienced technical leader with advanced level skills in multiple domains including data modeling, data engineering, and business intelligence industry standards. They are proactive, self-driven, and possess the demonstrable ability to work independently. This position will support the data science and analytics team in the development of an analytics environment, enterprise reporting, and deployment of predictive models. The ideal candidate for this position is willing to train and mentor others on industry best practices, is self-motivated to advance their technical skill set, and thrives in a creative and dynamic environment.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is based in Atlanta, GA in our west midtown office.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains strong knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, related programming languages, and data integrity issues
  • Lead and execute the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches to support analytics and reporting
  • Perform business process re-engineering on existing reporting and analytics and leverage new technology to create better ways to analyze and act on data
  • Understand the business and be able to articulate their needs into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Programs and writes queries and reports
  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing with junior developers
  • Develops and supports data warehouse-related applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.
  • Conducts training on use of applications developed.
  • Build and advocate data-driven solutions that help customers improve clinical outcomes and processes
  • Design and build scalable production-ready analytics solutions using a wide array of techniques and methodologies in the field of business analytics
  • Create dashboards and presentations to communicate analytic findings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ work experience as a business intelligence developer
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Experience with SQL Server stack (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS)
  • Substantial experience with tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI,
  • Experience with data modeling, validation, and visualization
  • Cloud applications and data security experience a plus
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a challenging, fast-pasted, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail orientated, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with senior management and executives
