Job Description Summary

This position exists to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs and People development. This position is responsible for GMP’s, high speed efficiency, process improvement, lean manufacturing, team development and overall production management to achieve Production objectives, quality standard, process yields and machine efficiencies. This position will also be responsible to achieve continuous improvement in production operations, waste reduction and resource utilization.

This is a 12 Hour Night Shift Position

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers needed business results.
  • Creates a learning environment and understandings common to teams and team leaders regarding goals and purpose of team and plant goals.
  • Develops and coaches people and enables teams to make improvements by; helping set objectives, helping set boundaries, and opening doors or breaking down boundaries that are perceived or unnecessary, keeping the ownership and responsibility with the individual or team where appropriate.
  • Is accessible to all Associates and enables Associates to be successful by: creating opportunities for development, breaking down barriers; and challenging Associates to assess performance on a regular basis.
  • Focuses on monthly, quarterly and yearly goal achievements.
  • Builds organizational capability.
  • Holds Associates accountable for results, including: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.

The Shift Leader Is dedicated to business success. This includes:

  • Developing and achieving business plans.
  • Ensuring that both production and people are scheduled responsibly.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Focusing on the customer and the customer’s expectations of our products and services.
  • Supporting management and its policies as well as Associates. Champions safety.
  • Communicating and supporting the vision for BD Holdrege and creating a line of sight for each Associate.
  • Fostering a trusting environment.
  • Leading by example.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and required to support the needs of the business.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (engineering, business or related major) is PREFERRED, or can be substituted by commensurate experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of experience leading people in a structure environment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years prior manufacturing supervision experience is PREFERRED.

  • Respond well to change/uncertainty.
