Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager manages, directs, and coordinates all activities related to the manufacturing at the Holdrege facility. Works through key members of the Value Stream Team to ensure all budgeted manufacturing objectives, as outlined in the annual budget, are achieved.

Job Description

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the achievement of the operational and quality performance of the business along with other key metrics including, Health/Safety & Environmental, performance to volume and mix, cost reductions, backorder, right first time, customer complaints, Raw Materials/Work In Progress/Finished Goods inventory, absence levels, labor turnover, waste, quality hold work, overtime, headcount/recovery, capital, internal audits, training, CAPA’s, Lean – Blitzes, 5’s.
  • Working with and through the Value Stream Team members, analyses production schedules issued by the planning department, assess the manufacturing/financial impact, assign production targets and priorities and monitors production performance to ensure that volumes and mix requirements are met.
  • Responsible for monitoring shift to shift performance of the production lines, ensuring that issues are being escalated or resolved.
  • Managing shift leadership including the development of IIG’s and completing performance reviews.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget submission.  This budget shall include components such as volumes, capacities, capital requirements, headcount, training, standard cost detail (BOM’s, routings, work center data), inventories, materials, energy, cost reductions, overheads (fixed and variable), backorder and any other factors that affect productivity.
  • Responsible for talent management and succession flow within the area and for own position along with ensuring the appropriate performance management processes are consistently achieved.
  • Responsible for Health and Safety, training, performance and discipline for all associates. Address safety concerns.
  • Responsible for compliance with all company and government regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring employee communications, training programs, safety and compliance to procedures for assigned personnel.
  • Perform all duties that support and uphold the company’s core values and encourages the Value Stream to embrace these values.
  • Offering strategic direction to the Value Stream Team in line with the Company strategy.


  • Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Production, or related field.


  • Must have experience supervising a team
  • Knowledge of quality systems in medical device required
  • Experience of working in a high volume-manufacturing environment, preferably within a medical environment
  • Alternatively, demonstrated ability within the Plant structure
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Comfortable with numbers and calculations
