The BD SkillBridge Fellowship Program provides opportunities for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual Fellowships during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days.
The SkillBridgeFellow will experience:

Gain Medical Technology (MEDTECH) industry and technical experience.
Our SkillBridge Program consists of 3 cohorts per year, starting in January, May, and August.The Fellowship is designed to be 3-6 month long Fellowship in duration within the specific cohort timeline, however,can be flexible based on the service member’s remainingactive-duty time and special circumstances.
SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation or benefits from BD, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. After successful completion of the program, there may be an opportunity to be considered for a full-time position, depending on business needs.
On acceptance into the program the SkillBridge Fellowship Program Management staff (consisting of mostly all veterans) will provide guidance, mentorship, and work closely with the Fellow for integration into the BD culture.
*3PM-11PM 8 hour 2nd shift*
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the operational performance of the team to achieve business objectives, initiating hands-on approach when appropriate.
Responsible for all people issues across the shift including absence control, discipline and grievance handling. Full support of this will be given through the Human Resources Department as required.
Responsible for ensuring that all associates on the team comply at all times to health, safety, environmental and Quality Systems.
Responsible for ensuring that all associates on the team receives appropriate training where necessary in order to maintain compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Production Scheduler/Supply Chain to implement the production schedule and ensure it is understood and clearly communicated.
Must ensure all production areas are continually supplied with the relevant components. Ensure all products are manufactured as specified within the Quality System, and to organize corrective action to maintain the product and the accepted quality levels.
Participate in the team process of recruitment of new personnel, good employee relations, and the development of team members by an ongoing assessment of each individual. Support disciplinary procedures as appropriate.
Motivate, encourage and involve all team members in continuous improvement programs. Have input into new processes and liaise closely with support teams and groups. Facilitate team meetings as necessary.
Administer vacation authorization and attendance registration per the company policy and effectively communicate upon these to HR and Payroll as appropriate.
Adhere to manufacturing schedules.
Maintain effective control by the management of specific lots. Make changes to materials, manning and production when required to react to changes in the schedule.
Maintain regular and clear communication on the status of all activities within the area.
Ensure all reviews are completed on time. Undertake any other reasonable task/request as the position and job requires to achieve the overall Plant objectives.
Ensuring an effective shift handover takes place.
Must meet all Department of Defense SkillBridge Eligibility requirements and be approved to participate in the SkillBridge program with your military installation command.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Proven track record of success in military career
Motivating, influencing, persuading and accomplishing results through others.
Communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively
Strong facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intimate level of computer skills as it relates to the computer programs in your respective area of responsibility.
