Position Summary
Plans and designs the implementation of product and process improvements and ensures their successful start up in production. Will be required to lead, support, and/or manage selected manufacturing projects, which may include process/equipment optimization and sustainability initiatives, among others.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leads cost and process improvement projects, internal or external to the plant.
Capable of developing complex project plans and meeting established due dates.
Develops standard operating procedures and product specifications.
Develops preventive maintenance strategies and schedules.
Leads Lean efforts through completion.
Presents and supports the implementation of Cost Reduction Projects including capital requirements.
Conducts benchmarking in internal and external plant systems and generates recommendations to management.
Provides technical and business support to Process Engineers, Process Owners and manufacturing personnel in order to complete machinery and processes improvements.
Identify, lead, support and manage manufacturing improvement projects until completion, which can include and is not limited to create multifunctional teams, and require vendor or supplier process improvement.
Responsibilities include project management, planning, team facilitation and project status updates.
Active member of the Validation Team; develops protocols, engineering studies and Design of Experiment (DOE).
Meets Federal, State and Local Regulations and Corporate Policies.
Frequent comparison and analysis of data against requirements.
Must have foresight and planning abilities in order to achieve the required objectives.
Perform manual calculations and must be able to use calculator and personal computer.
Write clear and neat information in production documentation.
Travel during the year.
Knowledge and Skills
ISO 9000 and QSR environment exposure
Lean Leader and Six Sigma certified preferred
Good understanding of manufacturing costs and financial analysis
Excellent presentation and project management skills; Quality and detail oriented, Team player and capable of influencing others
Exposure and knowledge on manufacturing systems as SAP
Fully Bilingual (Spanish & English)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Science
Minimum 3 years related experience either in Project Management, Packaging, Validations, Lean and/or Six Sigma methodology with a valid certification from an industry known trainer
