Job Description
On this role, you lead the global management and performance of the Environmental, Health, and Safety function for the Pharmaceutical Systems Business Unit. You own the network of EHS associates across our sites to measure performance, assess capability levels and identify common areas of EHS risks that can be managed through program implementation. You provide ongoing support to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You are a key advisor for the senior operations leader for the BU, ensuring that EHS aspects are considered in the business’s operations strategy.
Main responsibilities will include:
Provide oversight to the level of EHS resourcing based on the nature of operations; and focuses on capability building across site level EHS associates in the PS network.
Establish systems to track and report EHS performance metrics to BU Operations leaders; Engage BU Operations LT on EHS matters to ensure a strong culture of associate safety and environmental management.
Assist sites with injury/incident investigations; Ensure accurate systemic root cause analysis is performed, that safety alerts are written up and distributed and that corrective actions are addressed across the PS sites.
Strategic partner for each Plant Manager and BU VP. Partnering with Plant Managers to build development plans for EHS leaders. Crafting interventional strategies for sites based on challenges. Partnering with the BU VP and providing overall strategy to reduce injuries, ensure compliance and minimize environmental impact.
Collaborate with Corporate EHS staff on the development of policies, goals, and programs; owns the implementation of policies/programs with site EHS staff.
Conduct site visits to provide coaching/training on EHS capability building; and to support and advise sites in the event of significant changes (i.e., construction/process changes).
Periodically review policies, programs, and metrics to ensure alignment of EHS strategies with business needs.
Provide mentorship to the sites in the event of government agency inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation. Acts as a liaison between the site and Corporate EHS and Legal when correspondence is needed with government agencies.
Keep abreast of changes to EHS regulations that may impact operations; Initiate changes to practices and procedures to support compliance requirements.
About you
We are looking for a leader with a proven track record in leading EHS at an international level, either as a dedicated EHS expert or in production roles incorporating a strong EHS component. You ideally have a degree in Engineering and have experience in a multinational environment. We encourage applications coming from other industries such as Oil & Gas or Consumer goods.
You bring a transformational approach, with the ability and experience in leading change in a sophisticated organization. You drive this by crafting and implementing strategies/programs/processes that support the business strategy.
We are open for this role to be based in our plants in France (Pont-de-Claix) or Mexico (Cuautitlan) with strong onsite presence when not travelling (~25-30% travel expected, both international and domestic).
