Job Description Summary

The Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) business pioneered a specialized therapy used to treat fevers resulting from certain neurological/cardiac events with precision cooling of the patient. This role gets involved with the day to day activities of supporting one of BDI’s growing business units.
The finance team supports business objectives by providing financial analysis & accounting support as well as assists in month-end closings and budget preparation. The dynamic needs of the business will change and the ideal candidate would be looking to increase their responsibilities and develop their skills to keep pace with supporting the evolving environment. This role is based out of the Louisville, Colorado office which is located between the vibrant cities of Denver and Boulder, and sits at the foot of the Rocky mountains.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include some or all of the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Executing financial responsibilities necessary for closing the books each period, including:
    • Developing and recording necessary accounting journal entries to ensure accurate financials.
    • Reconciling balance sheet accounts accurately and timely.
    • Organizing and maintaining supporting documentation
    • Assisting in coordination of year-end closing for Annual Report, 10-k, and Tax Package.
  • Supporting Sales, R&D, Marketing, Division Finance, Quality, and Regulatory partners by:
    • Working with business partners to understand expenses/accruals and investigating unusual transactions.
    • Providing thoughtful and insightful analysis of financial variances.
    • Maintaining and updating financial spreadsheets, reports, schedules, and  calculations.
    • Leading monthly budget/spending reviews with departmental managers, and forecasting future spending/revenue.
    • Coordinating and participating in the annual budget process.
    • Validating the completeness and accuracy of the P&L.

  • Other responsibilities may include:
    • Ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
    • Documentation of standard operating procedures
    • Performing ad-hoc research/analysis/projects in order to support decision making

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in Accounting / Finance is required.
  • CPA / CMA / MBA or equivalent or working toward qualification is desirable
  • A minimum of 2 years experience of progressive accounting experience, with some exposure to manufacturing operations, financial analysis desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Candidate must be highly proficient working with Microsoft Excel and reasonably proficient with other common applications such as MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint; working knowledge of JD Edwards or other accounting systems,

  • Candidate should be well organized and possess good analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, proactive and seeks continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, challenging environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience working in a highly visible role that will interact with individuals at all organizational levels, internal and external, and at remote locations.
