SUMMARY

This individual will work with the Receiving Leads and the Operations Manager to assist with oversight of day to day operations of the Covington and Madison Sterilization Receiving Departments.  It will oversee, and direct daily trailer flow to each facility based on pre determined operations schedules.  This person will have open and continuous communication with all carriers dispatch and ETA schedules.  They will determine labor resource requirements and apply labor resources to each facility as needed based on trailer flow.  It will maintain data records and spreadsheets for trailer flow performance at Regional Sterilization.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Maintain a Macro level detailed analysis of trailer flow to the Covington and Madison sterilization facilities from time of power to receipt and match the trailer flow to predetermined sterilization operations schedules. Establishes and communicates priorities for daily trailer flow and movement to and between the Covington and Madison facilities. Works directly with the Receiving team leaders at Covington and Madison.  Directs work activities and resource allocation of receiving team members based on trailer flow. Assists in tracking system Data Entry and trailer flow report history for Sterilization. Completes and/or reviews accuracy of trailer reports flow and receiving productivity reports as assigned. Provides a point of communication between the following functional groups:

  • Covington and Madison Receiving teams.

  • Building A Covington Receiving.

  • All Carriers handling product from manufacturing sites to Sterilization.

  • Bard Traffic control and traffic management tender groups. 

Assists with enforcing Regional Sterilization receiving policies and procedures and periodic tasks. Ensures proper processing of non-sterile product carrier claims carrier claims are handled per Regional Sterilization procedure. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to operate material handling equipment.

  • Able to apply policies and procedures to work situations and use judgment in selecting appropriate actions.  Significant deviations from established policies and procedures will be referred to the supervisor.

  • Able to prioritize tasks and workflow.  Planning will take into account assets (time, equipment, and product) available.

  • Intermediate knowledge of personal computers and MS Office programs.

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills.

  • Knowledge of inventory control tools such as, inventory transaction journal, stock status, and computerized-inventory system.

  • Team leadership experience necessary. 

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills required.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel issues.

  • Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communications, employee focus, service to internal customers, telephone courtesy, professionalism

  • Strong questioning & problem-solving skills.

  • Must have strong attention to detail and be results oriented.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. 

  • Some post high school work a plus. 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership role and inventory management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have good oral and written communication skills, to read and comprehend simple instructions in Basic English and write short correspondence / memos.  Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, internal customers and other employees within the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations and apply to various operational tasks.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be a self-starter.   Position requires good logic and reasoning ability.  Ability to define problems and find logical solutions. Must evaluate and resolve daily issues by exercising sound judgement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.   Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Must be willing work “off” hours, as required.    Additionally, must be able to work with minimal supervision.
