Job Description

As Continuous Improvement Manager for the Mannford, Oklahoma Plant, the role is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and highly motivated positive individual to participate to the renewal of the organization which is looking to move toward robust and deeply applied Continuous Improvement mindset.

The successful incumbent will be passionate about creating a culture of operational and customer excellence, implementing change and driving continuous improvement across the network.

This strong continuous improvement identity will be created through the application of CI expertise, methodologies and tools associated, in order to ensure expected sustainable performance improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Belonging to the Operation broad organization, the role will bring value to the entire business unit, vertically and horizontally, both in facilities and wider enterprise.

1.   Key tasks and strategic accountability:

  • develop and deploy a consistent lean  & six sigma manufacturing strategy,
  • drive the change across the organization and create a best in class continuous improvement culture and identity through deep expertise and leadership,
  • drive improvements to business processes and customer service by challenging existing practices and identifying best practices,
  • drive year on year improvements through all operating units by building a multi-years pipeline of programs enabling expected efficiency, productivity and flexibility ,
  • lead and coordinate projects' prioritization, approval, resourcing and implementation at the relevant sites within the business,
  • work with Plant leadership team on the appropriation of Business objectives and the development of plans to deliver the expected goals,
  • establish and maintain relationships throughout BDI Surgery
  • monitor and manage results,
  • provide adequate reporting of metrics and activities,
  • drive the standardization and harmonization of practices,
  • promote cross sharing and benchmark of best practices for worldwide business improvement for the BU (including tools to make it in an efficient way),
  • educate, upskill, develop and support managers to self-deliver continuous improvement activities and build capabilities and talents across the organization,
  • promote a leadership style that is proactive, open and customer focused,
  • create an environment that is open, honest and fair; encouraging creativity and a willingness to make change.

Technical Area of Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other bachelor’s degree with master six sigma credentials,
  • Master’s degree desirable,
  • Six Sigma black belt certification or strong proved lean experience preferred,
  • Demonstrate a passion for safety, customer centricity and operational excellence,
  • Previous experience in implementing, and strong knowledge of, Lean and Six Sigma business systems ,
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience / leadership experience in a plant,
  • Excellent understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service,
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels,
  • Strong track record in project or program management ,
  • Experience of working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment,
  • Business acumen and ability to display the linkage between projects and desired business results.
