Associate Marketing Director, Vascular Access Technologies

Job Description Summary

This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT, reporting to the Platform Leader of Vascular Access Technologies (VAT). This leader will focus on delivering comprehensive solutions consisting of technology systems, software and consumables that enable the successful placement of all vascular access devices. The role will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and executing the strategy globally across functions and regional business teams for integrated ultrasound systems, and key product line within VAT. Furthermore, the role is accountable for the global financial performance for these products. The Associate Director will also lead a team of marketers and will be responsible for their development, motivation, and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with cross-functional teams, regional and country marketers and other product platforms to develop, adapt, and execute marketing plans for multiple product lines 

  • Identifies, develops, and delivers needed marketing promotions, programs, sales tools, and technical resources to ensure sales growth and market development 

  • Identifies, quantifies, and develops new market and product opportunities 

  • Hires, manages, and develops multiple product managers

  • Provides marketing leadership to the product management team in the form of motivation, training, and vision

  • Provides leadership to project teams directly or indirectly, including growth and innovation strategy, product lifecycle management, and capacity planning

  • Supports the development of the three-year strategy for platform growth

  • Generates actionable customer insights across multiple geographies to drive innovation

  • Owns the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production and release, confidently evaluating and balancing risks & tradeoffs

  • Generates compelling evidence demonstrating the value of the offering to the market, justifying new pricing & business model innovation


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, science, or engineering.  MBA with a concentration in marketing is preferred. 

  • Minimum of 6 years of combined experience in marketing, general management, and business development

  • Must have medical device experience, ideal candidate will have experience in both upstream and downstream marketing

  • Must have prior new product development experience, resulting in successful new product launches

  • Proven ability to build and manage a team

  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical, written, and verbal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present complex business reviews/presentations; provide clear thinking

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professional teams, stakeholders, and geography leaders to achieve time framed results

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
