Job Description Summary

The ServiceNow HR Product Owner will play a key role in ensuring BD’s service management platform meets objectives by increasing employee adoption and usage. The product owner represents the HR ServiceNow stakeholders and customers and has the vision for the HR ServiceNow components. The HR ServiceNow Product Owner translates the customer needs and feedback into more detailed business requirements. Writes user stories; assist in ranking and prioritizing the stories and adding them to the product backlog. Ensures product adheres to business requirements and provides input for release decisions in conjunction with key stakeholders. The HR ServiceNow Product Owner will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.

Job Description


  • Product Owner for Human Resources Case Management leading development and deployment in ServiceNow
  • Manage global HR deployment to over 80,000 internal users covering all countries and languages in a ServiceNow instance of over 120k requestors.
  • Use Agile processes to work through the Demand through ITBM and Agile/SDLC application, creating releases, stories, changes, test cases, defects, and enhancements.
  • Lead upgrade of ServiceNow for analysis and process improvements for HR configuration and maintenance
  • Gather all business requirements for enhancements, defects, and ad hoc requests and create specifications for developers and quality testing.
  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure accurate testing and development
  • Works with all BD regulatory and privacy bodies to ensure all regulations and change control applied as necessary in process and development.
  • Track defects through story (requirements) creation, sprints, change requests, and release
  • Develop and deliver in ServiceNow (Knowledge, Guided Tours)  training for the Test Module for all Subject Matter Experts..
  • Develop and deliver in ServiceNow (Knowledge, Guided Tours) training for the HR Application as necessary for all Subject Matter Experts.


  • 4+ years of IT Operational or Business Operations experience delivering, managing and improving service.
  • Service oriented, adaptable and resilient experience with Service Management Tools;
  • Experience with ServiceNow modules: HR, SDLC, Change, Incident, Request, and CMDB; all following ITIL recommendations
  • Strong ability to influence business owners and senior management
  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical, while working independently with minimal direction
  • Agile Methodologies and requirement gathering.
  • Have done Product/Project Manager responsibilities in previous roles.   
  • Ability to understand existing business processes and lead efforts to re-engineer processes
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build a 'one team' mentality
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; calm, polite and professional
  • Strong command and facilitation skills


  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related Analytical field

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of ServiceNow experience.
  • Experience driving and influencing teams at all levels
  • Strong devotion to customer service and technical excellence.
  • Ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations and vendors.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Work with leadership to develop and implement strategies in support of BD’s vision and values.

Travel: Up to 25% travel may be required.
