Summary:

This position plays a critical supporting role in the marketing activities for the BD Pyxis Supply Solutions group, having a suite of products and services designed to enhance patient care, drive clinical safety and efficiency in inventory management and reduce overall costs. This position works collaboratively within the Global Marketing team and has primary responsibility in supporting and driving portfolio growth, market penetration and share growth worldwide. YOu must be proficient in all aspects of the product enabling them to assist sales in converting opportunities to wins. Additionally, the role will be responsible for developing on-going training programs for sales and installation teams to ensure that they are provided the tools required to maximize their success potential. You will have a strong commercial aptitude, will contribute in the Annual Strategy Review (ASR) process and have shared responsibility in the development of analytical tools that support the portfolio. The role will also support new product documentation, launch execution, regional initiative deployment, field sales support and post-launch product lifecycle management to support accelerated growth of this critical global product franchise.

Entry to hospitals and other medical facilities is required. Many facilities have instituted vendor credentialing policies which require vendors to meet defined training, background check and proof of immunization requirements as a condition of entry. Associates entering these facilities are required to abide by these credentialing requirements. When visiting hospitals and other medical facilities, must be able to gain access to the Materials Management, Operating Room, Cath Lab, Emergency, ICU and other departments which may require an ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, stand for long periods of time, comply with hospital policy/protocol and be aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials. 

This position exists in an office environment with some remote home office activity permissible in exceptional circumstances. Approximately 20-30% travel is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops marketing strategies as assigned, including product direction, advertising, packaging, pricing, expense budgets, profit plans and future product development to manage a product or product category's life cycle.
  • Helps launch new products and software feature releases, including web content and collateral development, launch campaigns and promotions, sales force education, internal operations and supply chain readiness, and tracking of results. Close collaboration with cross functional partners including global marketing, pricing, operations, managed markets, R&D, regulatory and sales critical to success.
  • Accountable for demand management by developing recommendations on product sales forecasts and production inventory issues 
  • Lead sales training and support sales collateral generation
  • Provide channel partner marketing support, with supervision from business leader
  • Develops strong product and market knowledge of healthcare inventory management, clinical and operational workflow and financial analysis to represent the category in supporting internal and external customer education, product training programs and system performance documentation.
  • Additional engagement included in customer visits, sales meetings, internal and field sales training, convention planning, and conferences.
  • Cultivates relationships and assists with obtaining ongoing feedback from target customers including healthcare providers, distributors, manufacturers and field sales and operations teams to support development of winning next-generation products.
  • Prepares regular feedback to management regarding US project status as well as other critical issues which affect the attainment of project completion dates.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned by Business Leaders
  • Support US Region sales team for opportunity progression and conversion management: ensure sales team have the support, tools and resources from the Platform to enable rapid conversion of major ongoing wins as well as defense against competitive activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposal/Pricing (RFPs), tenders and contracts in conjunction with Sales and Marketing Management
  • Acts as the Marketing Core Team Member or Extended Team Member on key project teams. These projects will span from sustaining engineering projects, continuous improvement projects through to new product launches and product / business development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Operations, Global Customer Support (GCS) and with Senior Manager, Marketing and Sales Leadership to gain intimate understanding of market dynamics and gain market foresight through:
  • Field travel with Sales People, Customers, and Key Opinion Leaders
  • Manage the development and release of technical webinars to drive awareness of issue and product


Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree with 4 years of work experience in sales, consulting or marketing OR MBA/Master’s Degree with 2 years of work experience in sales, consulting or marketing - MBA preferred
  • Experience leading successful, goal oriented teams and projects
  • 3+ years marketing experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry
  • Inventory management and hospital workflow knowledge is a plus
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing and sales and/or direct sales experience.
  • Experience in marketing, market development and/or product marketing with an emphasis on product management.
  • Clinical / technical marketing / selling experience
  • Strategic and tactical marketing skills with emphasis in value selling capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, monitor, and execute marketing projects
  • Project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, influence
  • Strong negotiation and influence management skills
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, verbal, influence and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to think through complex issues and exercise sound business judgment to set strategies
  • Excellent presentation skills (both written and oral) and excellent writing skills
  • Financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting experience
  • Integrity, honesty and a strong work ethic
