SUMMARY:

The Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business is a $2.4B global provider of Medication Management technology serving Acute Care Hospitals, Non-Acute Care, and Retail Pharmacies.  We are focused on making the medication use process simpler, safer and smarter.

The position is based in San Diego, CA, and reports to the Director, Diversion Management.  The product marketing manager is responsible for the commercialization, launch, and sustainment of analytics to help address the problem of drug diversion. Furthermore, the role will drive the development of new capabilities/function. This is an exciting new offering to address one of our customers’ greatest challenges while creating a growth opportunity for the MMS business.

Our new Diversion Management offering leverages 1) category leading products, 2) technologies that link our products together, 3) analytical software, 4) and best practices. New to this mix is the analytical software that will require a strong product marketing leader to bring innovation to market in a clear, sustainable, differentiating and compelling way. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for ensuring alignment and consistency across the total MMS portfolio.

We are looking for a creative, passionate, and self-driven product marketing leader to support the organization’s transition from delivering category-leading products to becoming an integrated solutions company. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Downstream Marketing

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Marketing Plans: Create comprehensive Marketing Plans for new solution offerings
  • Packaging, Pricing, & Contracting: Set and validate solution Packaging, Pricing, & Contracting
  • Messaging & Positioning: Create segment-specific Messaging & Positioning, understanding customers, profiles, & motivators
  • Service: Partner with Global Customer Support to create complimentary service offerings

Launch & Commercialization

  • Solution Launch: Lead global Launch & Commercial efforts through close collaboration with the Regions / Prod Mgmt / Functions
  • Launch / Comm. Plans: Establish succinct Launch & Communication Plans for new and expansion offerings
  • Training: Collaborate with regional teams to create Training / Education material and deliver training programs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Communications: Partner with the Marketing function to clearly articulate the value of the solution to all stakeholders

Solution Evangelist & Customer Success

  • Commercial Support: Support ongoing commercial marketing efforts through tradeshows, demos, and customer presentations
  • Sales Acceleration: Work cross-functionally with the Region and Sales to define, measure, and accelerate the funnel
  • Customer Sustainment: Consistently track and monitor customer success, creating new programs to accelerate adoption
  • Thought Leadership: Partner with Clinical Marketing, Commercial Regions, and Med Affairs to build thought leadership and alliances

Upstream Marketing

  • Voice of customer: Gather periodic feedback from the customer to feed the backlog and support prioritization of marketable features. Determine key unmet needs in terms of importance and how well addressed they are with current solutions
  • Roadmap prioritization: Collaborate closely with R&D to drive prioritization of roadmap features. Participate in backlog grooming and inform fact-based decisions that incorporate value of feature to customer.
  • Strategic planning: Provide input into the development of Annual Strategic Review plan creation and maintenance of the multi-year generational product and technology roadmaps, ensuring investment alignment with project budget forecasts and available investment
  • Business-case development: Work with Core Team to architect and maintain assumption based – stochastic business cases that improve project and portfolio risk management and overall investment decision making
  • Strategic innovation: Identify and assess inorganic and organic business growth opportunities that align with overall strategy. Make recommendations and provide business case and rationale to support investment thesis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience and understanding of US and international acute care hospitals medication management process;
  • B.A. in Marketing/Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering. MBA preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in Healthcare, Medical Tech, HIT, or Marketing Comm Preferred.
  • Proven, results-driven launch experience
  • Strong upstream and downstream marketing competence
  • Healthcare experience, ideally in HIT or other complex offerings
  • Highly customer-centric
  • Competitive focused
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
