The Research AssociateIIperforms routine and complex laboratory tasks and procedures relevant to custom products and services in the Custom Technology Team. The Associate will perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to fulfill custom manufacturing requirements that include, but are not limited to formulations, experimental design, product testing/analysis, and results reporting. The Associate will work independently withindefinedprocedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. The Associate willobserveand follow safety standards and procedures andassistin general laboratory maintenance. Direction is both verbal and written.
Responsible for executing sophisticated experimental protocols and procedures within a defined project framework and timeline.
Design experimental protocols, technical reports, and summaries of assigned research projects under minimal supervision.
Tabulate and analyze experimental data for all phases of a project utilizing statistical programs.
Investigate and contribute to the development of new methods and technologies for project and process advancement.
Maintainaccurate, detailed records of experiments and results, andassistinidentifyingandtroubleshootingunexpected results.
Contribute to overall team objective.
Maintain lab equipment, related records, and coordinate use of lab equipment.
Assist in the operation of specialized and automated equipment.
Keepsabreastof the basic requirements for compliance inyour ownarea of work and stayscoordinatedwith those requirements.
Promote a safe work environment. Mayproviderecommendations onmaintainingthe safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard isidentified.Notifysupervisor and Safety Officer(s) of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
Perform related duties and assignments asrequired.
Bachelor’s degree, in Biology or related scientific field.
Experience and Knowledge:
Prefer one to three years' research/laboratory experience with abachelor'sdegree.
Familiar with routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization.Ability to keep neat,accurate, and complete records and logs.
Working knowledge of laboratory techniques and methods, including basic cellular biology techniques.Experience in cell culture, antibody staining, and flow cytometry is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to successfully execute defined experiments of simple to moderate complexity and prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses of assigned research projects.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Practical knowledge of laboratory instrumentation operation.
Mustpossessdigital literacy to include, but not limited to,PowerPoint,Excel,and Word.
Must have outstanding interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the ability to work across company fields and units.
