Job Description Summary
Responsible for leading and developing a team passionate about selecting, leading and developing suppliers (new and existing) for the Medication Management Solutions Business. Assist suppliers in achieving our goal of “Zero Defects”. Position requires a multifaceted individual with the ability to work in a diverse environment and draw upon experience in resolving difference between critical and non-critical issues and their impact on the business. Position also requires ability and flexibility to travel up to approximately 50% of the time.
Position is also responsible for site shared functions of Receiving Inspection and Calibration.
Responsible for management of the process to select and qualify new vendors in support of the business unit and site as needed.
Representative for key strategic suppliers as mandated by the business, which may include supplier on-site audits, Continuous Improvement Team meetings (supplier and CareFusion), and additional activities to ensure successful relationship management leading to resolution of challenges. Serves as CFN Quality Liaison to ensure effective communication and teamwork between CFN and suppliers.
Lead, develop and oversee the Supplier Quality team which is comprised for Supplier Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Analyst and Supplier Quality Admin. As well as Inspection which support all business units within San Diego, CA site.
Representative of the company with external vendors; high level of integrity, respect for vendors and internal/external customers and non-biased approached are expected.
Subject Matter Specialist during internal and external audits (third party audit) related to Supplier Quality and Purchasing Controls (examples: FDA, Notified Body)
Review CareFusion QMS Supplier Quality and Purchasing Controls procedures and records to ensure adequacy and compliance. Update processes and related documentation as appropriate. Develop processes and procedures to implement functional strategies.
Responsible for supporting Development/Operations Engineering and manufacturing to resolve technical issues and implement corrective and preventive action.
Responsible for the monthly supplier quality presentation to management.
Develops and leads department metrics.
Bachelor's degree in technical field and 5 to 7 years’ experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous supervisory experience strongly recommended
Experience working in a highly regulated industry required
Direct experience with medical instrumentation and disposables, in a regulated environment (i.e. GMPs, ISO13485, EN46001, etc.) preferred.
Must have knowledge of Quality Engineering subject area, including statistics.
Must be able to lead project schedules and timelines in a cross-functional environment.
Strong solid understanding of DMAIC \Six Sigma problem solving process. Belt certified would be beneficial.
Candidate must have high energy and lots of stamina. Must be a standout colleague, and have a strong work ethic. Must have good interpersonal skills.
