The Associate Medical Scientist is an integral member of Medical Affairs responsible for supporting medical science including writing, editing and maintaining high quality Medical documentation; as well as contributing and leading the periodic review of the published literature for the BD products, and preparing documentation for the BD products design history file and technical files to support International Registrations and updates for In Vitro regulatory status of the BD products. Has knowledge of BD reagents and flow cytometry instruments and product development practices in commercial settings, and understands regulatory requirement for IVD devices and promotional activities.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Applies strong analytical skills and excellent written communication skills to develop, review/ edit, integrate feedback and approval of written documents (protocols and reports for BD technical files, IFU, application guide, internal cross-functional documentation).
Establishes understanding of the literature and current medical opinion related to the BD products
Leads the periodic literature review and reporting activities.
Possesses experience and ability to work with BD internal resources or external vendors, including troubleshooting and documentation transfer
Supports and improves existing literature search, appraisal methods and library management.
Liaisons and supports the clinical team assigned for conduct clinical trial, when applicable.
Presents summaries, data and progress during group meetings.
Contributes to attain completion of MSA documentation, technical file and landmarks.
Possess knowledge of BD Biosciences reagents and instruments.
Is willing to learn, participates in functional and cross-functional training to advance technical and regulatory knowledge and skills.
Works under general supervision and reports to Senior Management of Clinical Projects.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or a Master or Advanced degree in relevant scientific subject area (Biological Sciences or Biomedical engineering focused on Biotechnology).
Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience in product development or a combination of equivalent education and experience. A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Results orientated, self-motivated with ability to take risks, willing to learn, experience with literature research method and databases preferred.
Working knowledge of MS Office, strong skills with MS Excel and/or database development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team based work environment is required.
Very motivated and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a hard-working and interdisciplinary team.
Experience with BD systems and reagents: FACSCanto™, FACSLyric ™, BD LWA/SPA or LSR Fortessa™ preferred.
Experience using flow cytometric analysis software (Diva, FlowJo, etc.) highly preferred.
