Procurement Manager

Job Description Summary

The Business or Customer Facing Procurement Manager is responsible as the interface between the BDB Business unit and Global Procurement function to drive implementation of the applicable tactics under sourcing strategies impacting assigned sites, regions or businesses. The associate may assist with the development of sourcing strategies for commodities unique to the business and/or region, and from time-to-time, may be asked to participate on broader teams. He/She will work closely with the Supplier Facing team regarding the Implementation activities related to products or services that are in-line or emanating from GPDS/NPI programs. The associate has direct accountability for establishing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships within the assigned sites, regions, or businesses while ensuring alignment of priorities and needs regarding key business initiatives. The associate will also provide leadership and coordination to prioritize projects, resources, approvals and implementation within BDB. The role will coordinate and communicate with Supplier Facing Procurement managers and/or Global Category Managers regarding the development of the 3 year savings pipeline and implementation needs for all supported categories impacting the assigned business unit.

The Customer Facing role is responsible to monitor the Class I & II saving programs within the business budget and report out to the Supplier Facing Procurement Managers and/or Global Category Manager. He/She will also support key business objectives, supplier/material risk, category performance, and guidance for the development of savings pipeline.

Performance is measured against successful delivery against agreed portfolio of projects of the team as well as proficiency in developing and maintaining relationships with the assigned stakeholders and business sites.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum five years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree is a plus
  • Cost management practices

  • Solid purchasing fundamentals
  • Ability to understand high level technical requirements
