We are looking for a passionate Software Architect and leader. Build relationships with our business leaders, scientists and technologists. Influence at all levels to guide us in enhancing system capabilities. Help us develop our roadmap and shape the vision of future software. Work hands-on to guide and grow our talented development staff while together we take our instrument platform to the next level. You’ll provide the architectural vision and alignment needed to assess complexity and to help teams create informed estimates of effort. You will dive in with engineers and drive to make sure the right questions are asked and answered. You will have the potential to empower scientific discovery and to ultimately restore health in new and profound ways.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners, domain experts, scientists, testing and development to renew our architecture and realize our strategic product roadmap.

  • Empower distributed development teams with framework implementations, knowledge sharing and sustainable practices.

  • Help stakeholders understand the impact of capability changes and guide them to make technical and scope decisions based on your high-level view.

  • Collaborate to create tailored solutions that balance capabilities according to future needs, resources available, and continuous product delivery.

  • Accelerate our DevOps and continuous delivery approach and enable the shift toward frequent production and delivery of components and packages.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

  • MSCS strongly desired. If you have a scientific academic background with deep experience as both a software developer and architect, we also welcome your application.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an architecture role.

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in software development with strong OOP.

  • Strong experience with ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular required.

  • Experience architecting for test frameworks and component testability.

  • Experience architecting for CI/CD and DevOps.

  • Profound grasp of architectural approaches and trends, able to adapt approaches and to guide wisely from alternatives.

  • Experience structuring the work of architectural efforts, entrust, guide and mentor other team members.

  • Extensive experience with Agile development and empowering teams to move fast.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Superior listening skills. Able to tailor your message to the audience and integrate feedback.

  • Demonstrable ability to create clear, accessible, visual explanations of system architecture.

Qualification Pluses:

  • Scientific instrumentation, data acquisition, IOT

  • Regulated environments, esp. medical devices, biotech

  • Leveraging components and packages for modularity and integration.

  • Understand, practice and apply OOP, SOLID, Design Patterns.

  • Experience and knowledge with algorithm development.

  • You have renewed platforms to reduce complexity and create big wins with new capabilities.

  • ASP.NET, Entity Framework, C#, .NET Core, UML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, TypeScript, Electron

  • Pub/Sub, Message Queues, Web socket, HTTP, REST, SOA, Microservices, AWS, Azure

  • Node.js, Open source, Distributed systems

  • MS SQL

Tech Stack pluses:

  • Image processing, big data, storage, containerization

  • Relational and NoSQL DBs
