Machine Operator/Assembler (Night Shift)
Job Description SummaryThe Equipment Specialist/Machine Operator (ES) reports directly to the Department Shift Coach and is responsible for performing routine set up, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment via manual or semi-automated means. The ES controls and adjusts machine setting, inspects in-process parts to ensure consistent quality and removes defective product, packaging, and component material. The ES Assists with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions. They are also responsible to identify and escalate any issues associated with the machine performance and/or product quality.

This is a night shift position. (Shifts B or D)
12 hour rotating shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Scheduled to work 7 days in a 14 day period (2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off. Every other weekend is scheduled off.)
**We pay a shift differential for the night shift!**
Operates multiple processes on or around high speed automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
Participates in equipment changeovers or set-ups.
Monitors assigned processes to ensure high quality production
Aims to meet or exceed all expected line/zone performance by supporting an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
Removes defective product from the automated or semi-automated processes.
Maintains accurate records and documents.
Continuously improves through the Kaizen Action Sheet (KAS) program
Produces high quality products manufactured per task documents
Follows all local, state, federal, and BD safety & quality regulations, policies, procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED required
6-months previous experience in a team environment required.
1-year previous manufacturing/production/warehouse experience preferred
Ability to read & write in written English and communicate in verbal English
Work effectively in a team setting and communicate across the department
Punctual and accountable for attendance in accordance with company policies to ensure production
Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification
Ability to operate independently within the constraints of approved process-related documentation
Ability analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
Basic computer proficiency and basic use of Windows programs

Stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods of time.
Bending, stooping and reaching.
Walking, kneeling, balancing, crouching, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers.
Lifting requirements: may occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs, frequently lift up to 10 lbs, occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs, frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs, frequently carry up to 5 lbs.
Almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations.
Must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.
