The Molding Technician will be responsible for the following activities: directing and performing material changes as dictated by the production schedule; performing process troubleshooting, part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality; verifying paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at startup of jobs and in-process inspections; supervising auxiliary equipment i.e. water, thermometers, grinders, robotic, etc. as needed in the production area; and assisting in break coverage as needed.
Daily Activities Include, but are not limited to:
Proficiently and safely perform machine start-up, shut-down, color changes, and any other vital processing changes to ensure that the machines are running at the accurate efficiency and that the product is conforming to Quality specifications.
Proficiently and safely perform mold PM’s per procedures. Monitor all auxiliary equipment.
Work with the Production Mechanics to identify any problems with machines and/or equipment.
Coordinate with the tool shop when tooling issues occur.
Assist supervisor with training programs for new employees.
Responsible and accountable for: working safely around injection molding equipment, maintaining the expected product quality, achieving adequate production levels, keeping assigned areas clean, and maintaining plant wide 5S program.
Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.
Make minor repairs to machines and equipment and advise proper personnel of vital major repairs.
Assist mold attendant and relieve other molding technicians and mold attendants on breaks or in the event of absenteeism.
Document and verify that the machine cycle, cavitation, and set-up parameters are correct, find root cause if not accurate.
Document performance of machines and any adjustments made.
Work with the QA department to prevent any nonconforming product.
Follow all Safety and cGMP practices.
Adherence to all quality policy and procedures including
Safely maintain machine cleanliness
Verify part containment is functioning correctly and how to repair it when needed
Perform any housekeeping duties as assigned by Manager.
Able to work a 3/2/2/3 12-hour night shift.
