Summary of Position with General Responsibilities

The Marketing MBA Intern is responsible for assisting in both the strategic and tactical implementation of the marketing program(s) for a divisional product line(s). Specific assignments will be determined at the time of placement; however, MBA interns are usually assigned both upstream and downstream projects that may include market research, competitive analysis, sales forecasting/market modeling, product commercialization planning, development of sales training and/or marketing collateral.

This is a 12-week internship in the summer of 2020. The intern will be supervised and trained by an assigned marketing product manager. Ongoing feedback will be given to the individual throughout their term to assess current strengths and weaknesses. The intern will be expected to achieve competency in their assigned product line and disease state throughout the program.  During the last week of the internship program, MBA Interns will be required to give a presentation summarizing their completed project activities, successes, and development throughout their time at BD.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Develop and implement marketing plans on a global scale
  • Identify and develop marketing programs, sales tools and promotions

Basic Qualifications

  • Current MBA student between 1st and 2nd year curriculum
  • 12-week commitment during the 2020 summer break

Education and/or Experience

  • Desire to join a team committed to advancing the world of health
  • Currently enrolled as an MBA student
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication

Additional Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous marketing and/or product management experience preferred
  • MBA pursuing a life-sciences/healthcare track or sub-specialty
