Sr. Manager of Physician Training

Job Description Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Sr. Director of Medical Affairs (and ultimately the VP of Medical and Clinical Affairs), the Sr. Manager of Physician Training will design and implement physician training plans and programs, inclusive of the development of web presence, fellows courses, KOL management, course marketing, capturing feedback, CME and societal relationships. The professional development training strategy, goals and objectives must be integrated in and fully aligned with the BDPI - Management Board.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:  

1. Maintain and further develop a world-class physician education program and department, including revamping existing courses and developing new courses.  This includes development of department procedures and ensuring proper support of all domestic training activities. 

2.  Increase amount of training sites and ensure proper geographical distribution, as appropriate.

3.  Oversee ongoing website development and improvements –

Online registration

Course descriptions, objectives, proctor bio’s and locations

Online calendar

Online education

4.  KOL Development – Create and manage KOL database, evaluate, build and maintain KOL relationships.

5.  Coordinate training to be aligned with business unit strategic initiatives.

6.  Marketing of PT courses

7.  Oversee development of collateral material (brochures, pocket program)

8.  Create communication plans around physician training courses.

9.  Develop timelines and deployment plans for project execution.

10. CME – organize and obtain CME accreditation for courses.

11. Scope out and oversee the development of Fellow’s Programs.

12. Build and support societal linkages and support for Physician Training courses (e.g., SIR, SVS)

13. Research and respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from health care professionals regarding the company's marketed products they received training on (or direct accordingly).

14. Maintains an in-depth understanding of product knowledge, labeling, and relevant data for company Products and maintains current awareness for the published literature.

15. Responsible for preparing review of training materials for fair balance (benefits vs. risks), when appropriate.

16. In conjunction with other Medical Affairs personnel, develop accurate data/information in support of Medical Affairs Letters, when appropriate.

17. Provide current product cross reference information to both internal and external customers, when appropriate.
