Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Insights and Analytics, this position leads distributor and channel analytics and incentives for all US Business Segments. This role is accountable for partnering with our Channel Management Group and business leadership teams by providing insights, performance and actionable opportunities on distributor and reseller volumes. It will manage a team of analysts who support those channels and stakeholders as well as the incentives offered across the distributor landscape. The Senior Manager will also help drive the transformation and formation of a refined Channel Analytics capability within the CoE combining the strengths and best practices of the legacy BD and Bard companies. Additional accountabilities include developing and enhancing the integration of Bard distributor and customer tracings information into new and existing analytic tools to provide insights to customer, channel, & product opportunities and insights both for US Sales Senior Leadership and Business Unit (BU) Management for all supported BUs and across the Portfolio. This role will also partner with business unit accounting and finance teams on incentive forecasts and projections, and will partner with Com Ops Offer Development team on new agreements, renewals, and incentives across the commercial distribution, kitting, self-distribution, animal health, and e-commerce spaces.

Job Description

  • Lead 4-6 analysts supporting the US Region Channel Management Team including commercial distribution, kitter/OEM, self-distribution, animal health, and e-commerce spaces
  • Define the strategic direction for design and enhancements of channel analytic self-service tools for internal stakeholders to assess customer & product opportunities and insights.
  • Perform complex and custom analysis to support innovative approaches to gain additional customer insights and model new incentives to support those strategies.
  • Collaborate with BU Management, Marketing, Finance and Sales to understand short term and strategic long term information needs to quantify opportunity and market trends.
  • Provide accurate/timely data in a usable/automated format to visualize trends relative to products and portfolio using internal and external data sources.
  • Develop accrual recommendations for BU Finance Leadership for incentives, fees, and other distributor payments
  • Provide input and assist in setting strategic direction (business priorities, requirements) to teams (Finance, IT,) managing Dashboards and Analytic Tools, External Sources (i.e. MAX) and projects
  • Develop and enables roadmap for channel insights, including defining and monitoring key metrics
  • Drive change management efforts (e.g. training) to ensure successful application of incentive and analytic tools.
  • Proficient in Excel, Data Mining tools and BI design, SAP BI & Qlikview in the context of Channel Insights
  • Advanced Portal User for SAP, including the ability to train, document processes, and reside on a governance team to affect change management
  • Leads and participates in key projects as assigned by leadership
  • Works closely with multiple businesses and US Region to develop insights leading to profitable growth opportunities
  • Expand capabilities around what-if scenario analysis in opportunity identification.
  • Hold accountability for team goals and KPIs
  • Serve as line manager of ~4-6 personnel: attract, develop, and retain talent, helping to guide career paths and driving employee satisfaction
  • 15% Travel required for this position


  • BA/BS required (strong preference for Accounting, Business Analytics, Statistics, Math, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Actuarial or Computer Science), or extensive (15+ years) experience in the applicable area
  • Strong understanding of Finance and Business strategy
  • 5-7 years demonstrated experience and mastery leading teams, strong understanding of business strategy, and strong relationships with General Management, Finance, Accounting, Sales Leadership, Legal, IT and Human Resources
  • Deep understanding in data relations, standardization and advanced analytics as it relates to Medical Device Capital and Consumables products and services.
  • Proven experience in implementing new processes/systems and improvement of process efficiency
  • Highly strategic and analytical problem solver with solid business and financial acumen. Able to evaluate key business drivers and analytics to assist in development clear strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts, thought leadership and the business value of solutions in a clear, understandable way
  • Strong leadership skills, including the development of successors and bench strength
  • Extensive and demonstrated background in effectively managing people and fostering career development; proven coaching, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and motivate a team to achieve well communicated expectations
  • Strong communications and change management leadership experience
