The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, extracting, transforming, analyzing and reporting high-quality data to derive insights into Surgery’s product and manufacturing sites’ performance. The Data Analyst will develop and deliver presentations with the intended audience of supporting Surgery and BD Interventional Segment key senior leadership and BD Executive Leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external customers with the aim to improve the quality of decision making.
Bring innovative statistical thinking and methods to maximize the value of aggregate data in support of medical product development strategies.
Understand business needs and deliver targeted analytics to cross-functional platform teams and other key stakeholders to equip staff with compelling information and evidence for design considerations.
Use statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve real-time decision capability.
Ensure statistical rigor and good scientific practices are followed, statistical methods utilized, and rationale documented in analysis plans and reports.
Anticipate and identify opportunities for analytics to support targeted identification of operational risks.
Identify available and relevant data, including internal and external data sources, and leverage new data collection processes, where applicable.
Develop tools to aid others in standardized data analysis.
Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve analytics problems and communicate results.
Effectively communicate with cross functional teams and senior leadership to gather and present data analyses.
Travels as required by the above duties and responsibilities.

High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar programs
Trackwise or similar system experience, preferred
Experience working with medical device failures/claims-level data, preferred
Experience analyzing large amounts of data within short time frames
Ability to interpret Regulations, Corporate, Division and Department Procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics or related quantitative, engineering or business discipline.
Minimum 3 years of FDA regulated industry experience in quality engineering, operations research, market research, applied statistics, or data analytics.
Technical skills/knowledge in one or more of the following is preferred: SAS and/or SQL programming experience, Multivariate analysis, regression analysis and forecasting, sampling, data modeling, R programming, SPSS or similar programs.
