As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia and closed medication management.
About the role
The Clinical Resource Consultant will have the key accountability for all clinical aspects of the MDS portfolio within the assigned geography and provide pre-and post-sales support in a clinical, training, and educational capacity. They will effectively leverage their clinical and product knowledge as they relate directly to customer needs, collaborate with sales and distributor sales team in the field, acting as an expert, advisor and troubleshooter. The Clinical Resource Consultant will work in partnership with customers and advocate best clinical practices for the portfolio.
Main responsibilities will include:
- To liaise and work with the sales teams to provide customers with clinical and product training to support BD Medical products in the region.
- To prepare and present clinically orientated product training programs for identified customers and hospitals.
- Together with sales and marketing and BD Distributors identify, select and prioritize target accounts and key customers.
- Communication of market and competitor information resulting from job activities to relevant BD personnel – specifically Medical Management and Marketing.
- To build business relationships within hospital accounts by engaging in scientific exchange and help creating and developing “Best Practice” procedures.
- To manage in-service process as part of conversion process.
- To represent BD in a professional manner on all occasions whilst providing the customer (as appropriate) an awareness of the full range of BD products available in the region.
- To attend meetings, conferences, and exhibitions to promote both BD company image and selected range of products.
- To work with medical (African, EMA, European & USA level) to provide effective communication of new product technical/scientific data and its clinical applications for customers, sales force, and customer service.
- To prepare and deliver formal technical and/or medical presentations at relevant clinical workshops, seminars and informal meetings.
- To build relationships and communicate with key clinicians and opinion leaders to maintain awareness of ‘Best Practice’, trends and procedures that are related to BD Medical Products.
- To support product trials and clinical audits
- To support medical teams in round table initiatives and local medical conferences.
- To keep updating on relevant clinical practices and procedures via training and external courses.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in general nursing or medical doctor with a strong hands-on experience in critical care areas (Pharmacy or Medical Sciences). Professional nursing/ clinical education experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- An understanding of the Med Tech industry
- High personal integrity and ethical standards.
- An ability to identify Clinical/business opportunities in relation to retention and growth strategies.
- Ability to work autonomously, and be capable of independently generating, prioritizing, and handling own work
- Organization skills – being able to organize workshops, seminars, meetings etc. self dependently.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel in the region if needed (50% of time)
