Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for developing the scope of work for different projects including but not limited to Manufacturing areas. Responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects and/or programs. Work with functional areas to improve productivity, efficiency, and capacity. Provide support for Lean Manufacturing activities. Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to day-to-day situations and look for improvements. Active participation during the implementation of new methods or systems to improve productivity. Coordinate meetings and activities with all stakeholders. Works with project budget, schedule and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies. Support the installation and qualification of all products and processes transfers to/out of the plant.

Job Responsibilities:(Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)

  • Responsible for project schedule and ensure that all assigned projects stay within schedule and budget.

  • Project execution includes writing protocols, specifications, Request for Proposal, User Requirements, project schedule, etc.

  • Meet with different stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering, environmental/safety and quality, to develop scope of work for different projects.

  • Create purchase requisitions for supplies, equipment, or services as needed.

  • Measure project performance against cost baseline.

  • Identify project resources including physical and staff resources. Assign project roles and responsibilities for all acquired resources.

  • Keeps management informed of operational problems which may result in project delays and suggests alternate ways of action to follow to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Participate during the coordination of product and equipment transferred to the plant.

  • Active participation during the implementation of new methods or systems to improve productivity.

  • Provide support for Lean Manufacturing activities. Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to day-to-day situations and look for improvements.

  • Participates in investigations, meetings, presentations, company representation, etc., as required

  • May be assigned to manage specific programs/Projects such as Tulip or LMM.

  • Actively support BD Excellence efforts by leading and/or participating in blitzes, value stream maps and projects as required.

  • Ensure follow-up on improvement events are completed and realized gains are maintained.  This includes scheduling and facilitating on-going status reviews with all vested parties.

  • Observes and enforces: Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), safety Regulation, ISO requirements and Company Policies.

  • Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of process improvements and best practices focused on improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

  • Identifies capacity improvement initiatives by measuring process cycle time and capacity constraints.

  • Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in manufacturing areas and complies with those requirements.

  • Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting manufacturing areas. Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.

  • Manage the execution of single or multiple projects/programs, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, scope, and CTW targets.

  • Manage CTW-related activities by identifying cost-saving opportunities, tracking financial impact, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Leads and supports Kaizen and Shingijutsu activities focused on process optimization, waste elimination, and operational excellence.

  • Facilitates and participates in Kaizen events, driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustainable improvements.

  • Apply Shingijutsu principles to enhance lean practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Teach and coach BD Excellence concepts and systematic approach, including strategy deployment, core components, Zero Loss mindset and all related methodologies/tools. 

  • Promotes a safe work environment. Provides recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.  Participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs.  Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified.   Notify supervisors of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.

  • Actively participates in the Shift Start Up meeting by attending, leading shift startup meeting and providing appropriate metrics as required.

  • Actively attend and participate in the ESC meetings and initiatives.

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferable Industrial Engineer.

  • One year of experience working in a regulated industrial environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures.

  • Effective time management and proactive participation.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

  • Willingness to travel to the U.S. mainland and offshore locations.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.

  • Quick learner with new tasks, systems, and methods.

  • Proficient in basic computer applications, email, and office software.

  • Ability to perform math calculations and measurement conversions.

  • Familiarity with GMP, QSR, or ISO requirements is desirable.

Physical Demands:

Frequently, the position requires standing, walking, sitting, balancing, stooping, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, and visual tasks including color discrimination, near/far vision, and depth perception. Occasionally, the role may require carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling medium-weight objects, as well as climbing, kneeling, and reaching—particularly when engaging in on-site process observations, Kaizen events, or improvement implementations. This role may also involve movement between production areas and office spaces, requiring adaptability to different physical environments.

Work Environment:

The work is constantly performed inside the building. The work requires exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold temperatures.  Also, the work environment has mechanical equipment and electrical hazards, and atmospheric conditions such as dust.
