The Associate Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of key projects and programs within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of innovation, new product development, and sustaining market presence initiatives and projects. The Associate Program Director will work closely with platform leadership, project managers, and other stakeholders to drive project success and align with business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program and Portfolio Management:
Serve as the single point of contact for the platform’s R&D portfolio health.
Collaborate with platform leadership team on strategy and execution.
Liaise with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Recommend project and program priorities to the General Manager (GM) for decision-making.
Represent the platform in portfolio reviews and present key metrics to leadership teams.
Project Execution and Delivery:
Oversee the execution of the platform portfolio prioritization.
Manage overall program/project budgets and resource planning.
Develop and implement program execution strategies.
Ensure adherence to product lifecycle management strategies.
Develop strategic partnerships with guild management and plants for program/project execution.
People Management:
Recruit, onboard, develop, and manage direct reports and project managers.
Provide support to project managers for issue resolution, risk management, budget requests, and resource allocation.
Provide feedback to functional department heads during annual operating and strategic planning and the performance management process.
Shared Responsibilities:
Develop portfolio prioritization and product/innovation roadmaps in partnership with Innovation group and key collaborators.
Communicate project status updates to the GM, platform leadership, and senior leadership team (SLT).
Ensure adherence to project management standard processes.
Prepare corporate and BD reports and new product development presentations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in program/project management, preferably in a technical or engineering environment
- Bachelors Degree
- Advanced understanding of business and program management standards, principles, concepts, and methodologies
- Experience with product development processes
- Experience in people management and development
- Experience with Resource planning and forecasting
- Experience with Budget oversight and forecasting
- Effective communication skills tailored to various audiences
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence collaborators indirectly
- Critical thinking and strategic mentality
- Cross-functional partnership and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Prferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the medical device industry
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance
- Certification in project management (PMP, PgMP, etc.)
