Job Description Summary

The role of this position is to manage the installation and support of Operational Technology (OT) for all systems in Sterilization and Operations; assuring technology is adequate for application and conforms with corporate requirements for security. Support
Corp initiatives for manufacturing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, telecommunications, security, database administration, server administration, virtualization, storage area networks, backups, disaster recovery, and user account administration. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new technologies quickly

Responsibilities

  • Support OT functions in BD’s Electronic Device History Reporting system (infrastructure, machine and instrument input into MES System)

  • Assist managing physical network infrastructure including housekeeping of IDF and MDF rooms.

  • Work closely with local IT staff on computers, printers, phone and network issues.

  • Participate in priority incident calls when systems are not running adequately.

  • Manage/Support the installation and support of Operational Technology (OT) and Business Applications including local project team and future planning for both sites.

  • Assuring technology is adequate for application and conforms with corporate requirements for security.

  • Collaborate and support corporate initiatives for manufacturing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.

  • Collaborate with OT staff and Corporate IT Business Partner in support of the site.

  • Support both sites for IT related tasks.

  • Develop and maintain a general knowledge of all IT/Operational Technology (OT) systems and software that support manufacturing. (PLC-HMI-Windows).

  • Develop and maintain a general knowledge of BD’s OT Cybersecurity standards.

  • Develop and implement solutions to IT/OT challenges as they arise.

  • Maintain and support OT software/hardware version upgrades and changes.

  • Corporate IT initiatives and considerations on how it might affect the local site. Supply all final approvals for all local changes. (Network Remediation)

  • Assists with purchasing decisions regarding hardware and software upgrades.  

  • Develops standards and procedures; establishes proper controls; recommends changes to existing practices and procedures; monitors adherence to applicable standards and regulations.  

  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technology trends and best practices.  

  • Performs similar and/or related work as required and assigned.  


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Experience working with Microsoft Server products such as Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, etc.  

  • Knowledgeable in networking concepts.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.  

  • Proven interpersonal skills with both internal and external clients.  

  • Self-motivated and results oriented.  

  • Demonstrates leadership abilities.  

  • Proficient in Visio and diagramming tools.  

  • Understanding of FDA regulations pertaining to medical device manufacturing preferred.

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of time.
