Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of products processed for Interventional Access Systems (BAS Kitting) at 8195/Global Distribution Center, Covington, GA. The QC Technician will ensure that all procedures, inspection protocols and specifications are adhered to in accordance to BD product requirements and meets visual, physical, and/ or dimensional requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify that all products have met current specifications and procedures are up to date prior to initiation of inspection/Kitting process

  • Review and audit all incoming and kitting DHRs to ensure all required documentation is present and filled out correctly prior to release of product

  • Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on a wide variety of products in accordance with procedures and product specifications.

  • Ensures that all components are present and accounted for prior to the kitting process

  • Maintains open communication and collaboratively works with operations team

  • Initiate, follow-up and implement disposition of non-conforming product prior to release.

  • Report all deviations from specifications/procedures to Quality Management/Supervisor or designate

  • Ensure all equipment is in working order and properly calibrated prior to use

  • Responsible for receipt, issuance and maintenance of all controlled documentation

  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams), Word, and Excel.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Detail-oriented with adherence to Good Documentation Practices.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Education or equivalent

  • One to two (1-2) years related Quality Control experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organizations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems, detect patterns and trends, and interpret instructions in various formats. Must demonstrate sound judgment during record reviews.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.  Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and utilize a pallet jack. Close vision required. Reasonable accommodation may be made.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Employee primarily works in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.  The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate
