Job Description
The Global Security Senior Manager, Mexico will be responsible for the execution of the global security strategy and programs; identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across all sites and businesses in Mexico to reduce risk, respond to incidents and limit exposure to liability in all areas throughout the country. The BD business in Mexico consists of 9 sites including the headquarters location (Mexico City) as well as several manufacturing sites including Cuautitlan, , Juarez, Nogales North & South, Reynosa, San Luis Potosi, and Tijuana 1 & 2.
Reporting to the Director of Global Security, this role calls for exceptional professionalism, emotional intelligence, exemplary judgment, and a commitment to confidentiality. The ability to excel in a challenging and fast-moving environment is imperative. The ideal candidate will be a respected authority and innovator in the physical security space, delivering top-tier support, building strong connections within the organization, and shaping high-level security strategies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in the identification of effective strategies to assess and mitigate risk, manage crises and incidents, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization.
- An accurate understanding and knowledge of practices associated with risk analysis and assessments.
- Maintains knowledge base of industry security practices, trends and technologies, and develops applications ensuring best practices are consistently applied to maintain employee safety, including personnel and visitors, and to assure Company assets are protected.
- Conduct site security assessments and follow-up audits.
- Supervises and monitors the operation and maintenance of all site security processes, practices, and policies including related technology such as CCTV, access control, alarm, and communication systems.
- Provides professional security advice and coordination with all business areas to develop the best practices that balance business risks, customer expectations, and security requirements while recognizing financial responsibilities.
- Establish and develop plans to enhance security awareness within the company
- Monitors all policy areas and ensures compliance with Standards of Business Conduct.
- Establishes and maintains an effective liaison and working relationship with BD Mexico´s management and employees and any other individual or group with mutual interests.
- Coach and develop a security team consistent with role profile and BD needs
- Manages security contracts as applicable. Ensures appropriate delivery of training to company employees, contract security personnel, and others as deemed necessary.
- Partners in employee investigations as necessary.
- Maintains a dashboard to track and analyze relevant data. Monitors and reports on activities and provides relevant management information.
- Persuasive when working with management through both written and oral communications and able to gain commitment to support ideas and initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain value-added security services that are risk-based and consequence-driven. Includes physical security policies, protocols/processes, and guidelines to reduce risks and limit exposure to liability.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Security and Personal Security Best Practices.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated security program management experience in a global multinational organization with a minimum of 10+ years of corporate/industrial security experience, combined with a minimum of 10+ years of senior supervisory and management experience.
- Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective counselor to the country Leadership Team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and operate effectively across matrixed organizational boundaries and form successful partnerships.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
- High ethics with demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in stressful situations.
- Experience with crisis management, business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
- Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits/assessments.
- Experienced and proficient using computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience in financial and budgetary management.
- Strong ability to communicate and articulate with a high level of proficiency in the written and verbal format (Spanish and English).
- Ability to work independently as well as to work as a part of a team.
- Ability to travel up to 25% - 30% (domestic and some international).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Native Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate in English
