About the role
Under the supervision of the Inventory Team Leader, the Swiss Reviewer executes and reviews general ledger activities and process steps in the field of inventory and intercompany, in order to provide compliant and timely US GAAP accounts and other financial reporting on behalf of the COE’s internal customer Swiss.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare qualitative reconciliations according to the Blackline matrix.
- Approve and review reconciliations within the defined timeline and monitor compliance with the Blackline matrix.
- Monitor monthly reconciliations between the inventory management system and SAP financial accounting system.
- Ensure correct accounting for, and reporting of, all movements for BD’s Switzerland intercompany and trade entities. Facilitate and actively participate in closing meetings with local finances, monthly and quarterly HQ reporting.
- Execute month – and quarter end closing activities.
- Internal controls/compliance: ensure that the prescribed related internal & SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls are executed on time, to guarantee completeness, correctness and security of key financial data and accounting transactions. Implement, follow-up and report action plans resulting from audits and/or SOX test results. Be a point of contact for our external auditors.
- Initiate process improvement recommendations to the manager and follow up on development and successful implementation, ensure compliance to the Swiss SOX framework and internal controls and ensure adherence to BD policies, procedures and regulations
- Projects: lead or participate in project teams to support the implementation of new business/process, bringing on hand expert knowledge in his/her sub team.
- Trade abroad reporting in relation to BD’s Pharma activities
About you
- University or Bachelor degree in Finance or related subject area preferred
- Minimum 2 years proven experience
- Strong customer orientation (Countries, Businesses and Functions).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft PC tools. Especially your excel skills are top notch.
- You can work within a complex, dynamic and changing environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills with senior management and across the organization.
- Collaborate and build relationships with all partners, influence all levels of management through informed discussions and presentations.
- SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Strong general accounting skills (statutory and international standards (US GAAP or IFRS).
- Self-motivation, pro-activeness, flexible, adaptive in changing environments, excellent organizational skills.
