Position Summary

The Senior Procurement Manager, Business Partner serves as the primary procurement advisor to the Business Platform Leadership Team, aligning procurement strategies with business priorities to drive growth, profitability, supply continuity, and operational excellence.

This role partners closely with business leaders and Procurement Centers of Excellence to deliver strategic sourcing solutions, optimize supplier performance, mitigate risk, enable responsible sourcing, and accelerate supplier-led innovation. As a key member of the Integrated Supply Chain organization, the Senior Procurement Manager drives an end-to-end approach to value creation, ensuring suppliers support both current business needs and long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Strategy

• Serve as the primary procurement advisor to Business Platform Leadership, developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
• Represent Procurement within the business platform, ensuring alignment between business needs and procurement priorities across direct and indirect spend.
• Partner with Procurement Centers of Excellence, including Category Management, Supplier Management, and Procurement Excellence, to deliver integrated solutions and support business decision-making.
• Provide market insights, supplier intelligence, and commercial expertise to influence strategic business decisions.
• Champion an end-to-end Integrated Supply Chain mindset that drives value creation, operational excellence, and long-term business performance.
• Act as an ambassador for Procurement and Integrated Supply Chain, promoting collaboration and enterprise-wide thinking.

Supplier Performance & Operational Excellence

• Accountable for supplier performance across quality, service, cost, sustainability, and innovation metrics.
• Drive a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach that delivers cost reduction, cost avoidance, inventory optimization, waste reduction, and quality improvements.
• Establish performance governance processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers.
• Develop strategic supplier partnerships that strengthen competitiveness, improve service levels, and support long-term business objectives.
• Promote a quality and safety-first culture throughout the supply base.
• Lead strategic supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, and ongoing supplier relationship management to optimize total value and business outcomes.
• Manage business-specific supplier spend and commercial activities to ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives.

Risk Management & Supply Assurance

• Utilize market intelligence, analytics, and procurement tools to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply risks.
• Evaluate supplier capacity, business continuity capabilities, and long-term readiness to support current and future business needs.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including contingency planning, scenario analysis, and supply continuity initiatives.
• Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to address material constraints and maintain uninterrupted supply.
• Monitor external market conditions and supplier-related risks that could impact business performance.

Innovation & Growth

• Drive supplier-led innovation and early supplier engagement to support new product development, product lifecycle management, and value improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage supplier capabilities, technologies, and market insights to improve competitiveness and accelerate business growth.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement innovative supplier solutions that enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer value.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or a related business function with increasing responsibility in supplier management, sourcing, commercial leadership, or business partnership roles.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing strategic supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, supply continuity, sustainability, and innovation objectives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Master's degree in a related discipline.
• Experience in MedTech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer products, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting a business unit, segment, or platform as a strategic procurement partner.
• Proven success leading multimillion-dollar supplier negotiations and commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), supplier risk management, and integrated supply chain principles.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and contribute to business strategy development.
• Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and drive results in a complex, matrixed global organization.
• Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent is preferred.
