Job Description Summary
The VP Finance, Connected Care Segment reports directly to the VP Finance Segment BP&A and will be the direct finance partner of the EVP & President of the Connected Care Segment.The position will have a critical role in leading the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for the Segment. The incumbent will collaborate with senior management across the Segment and businesses and their teams to establish key measures for business strategies in line with long-term financial objectives. In addition, this person will help ensure that efficient and accurate financial forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes including underlying financial modeling, and systems are in place. Areas of emphasis will include financial modeling, financial and operational analysis and written and oral communication.
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead financial planning processes (planning for annual ASR and Budget, quarterly Projections) for the Segment. including developing guidance expectations for businesses and coordinating reviews, lead analytics, modelling and portfolio analysis and help to identify strategies to meet financial targets
- Works with the SVP, Finance Business Units and Corp FP&A, VP Finance Segments, and EVP Segment President to establish worldwide business and regional financial goals that are consistent with business strategies and balance short- and long-term business objectives. This includes developing guidance expectations for businesses and coordinating reviews, lead analytics, modelling and portfolio analysis and help to identify strategies to meet financial targets
- Manage and deliver Segment WW P&L
- Drive optimized execution; analyze and monitor monthly performance
- Ensure compliance to GAAP, SOX and Corporate Finance policies
- Review monthly results with Corporate and quarterly with audit team
- Development of all Segment-level financial analytics and materials supporting the quarterly earnings call preparation for the Segment President and CFO, with close partnership with Corporate BP&A and IR teams
- Lead the coordination of KDG material and preparation for the Operating Committee across the Segment by partner with the businesses for monthly KDG reviews and lead segment preparation and development of OC material
- Coordinate financial processes and timelines for financial data requests across businesses and go beyond a consolidation role by shaping a concise Segment-level story
- Thought partner to business unit Finance VPs and teams
- Prepare all management presentations for various forums (ASR, Budget, Projection reviews; OC, wen required; earnings call prep; Segment LT) but also presents, analyzes, and interprets relevant financial data to the SVP Finance Business Unit and Corp. FP&A, VP Finance Segments and EVP Segment President, and/or business units and corporate
- Establish and leverage strong relationships with businesses, regions, Corporate and Finance ISC function.
- Segment level portfolio analytics for R&D
- Supports new business development including acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and product development.
- Provide proactive financial input on performance, financial but also underlying business and operational factors – that leads to changes in or improvements in business and financial outcomes
- Assists in providing leadership to the FP&A organization, developing and championing change to processes, people and systems as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
- 15+ years progressive experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller, or related roles
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global matrix structure, along business, geographic and functional dimensions.
- Undergraduate Degree in Business or Accounting plus an MBA, CPA or CMA certification (or equivalent)
- Strong system/application skills: SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BPC
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance principles and internal controls.
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to present material and complex matters in a concise and organized manner.
- Excellent modeling and project management skills
