Job Description Summary
Global Integrated Engineering plays a critical role in supporting all BD manufacturing sites worldwide with the deployment of capital equipment for breakthrough innovations, capacity expansion and replacement programs.As a GIE Engineer, you will lead the end‑to‑end integration of new process equipment into BD production sites, ensuring seamless transitions, fast ramp‑ups, and high operational efficiency.
This role requires strong engineering expertise, hands-on validation experience, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and vendors worldwide.
Job Description
Equipment Integration & Validation
Participate in FAT and SAT activities
Prepare and execute installation plans and complete equipment validation.
Manage vertical start-up and secure smooth integration of new equipment into existing processes.
Plan and ensure operator training and competency assessments.
Conduct test plans verifying equipment functionality, process windows, reliability, and performance.
Operational Support
Minimize disruption to ongoing operations during integrations, resolving issues quickly.
Provide technical support during ramp-up to achieve long-term capability, OEE and CI targets.
Analyze performance gaps between expected and actual equipment results.
Optimize equipment performance through center lining and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate maintenance requirements, tooling, and reliability-enhancing activities.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all equipment and installation meet EHS standards, including lock-out/tag-out, guarding and controls.
Fulfill all BD safety obligations, including reporting abnormalities, maintaining PPE, and participating in medical exams.
Documentation & Reporting
Support preparation of equipment documentation: specifications, architecture diagrams, test reports, maintenance and control plans.
Manage handover of documents and assets to relevant departments.
Required Education & Experience
Diploma or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Automation, or Project Management preferred).
Minimum 2 years of engineering and project management experience.
Strong background in equipment integration, validation, and vertical start-up in complex manufacturing environments.
Required Skills & Competencies
Proven experience introducing and validating new technologies/equipment.
Strong project and capital management leadership.
Lean leadership and data-driven decision-making capability.
Excellent cross-functional communication and vendor management skills.
Fluent English and Hungarian language
Travel Requirements
BD supports global collaboration and development opportunities.
Team members may occasionally be asked to support projects outside their home location.
Depending on business needs, periodic travel of up to 50% may be required.
BD aims to minimize travel whenever possible, and this is not intended as an ongoing weekly requirement.
