Position Summary(Purpose andFundamental Goals of the Position):

Shift: Weekend Day Shift, 12-hr shifts, 1st week: Thursday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm, 2nd week: Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm

Comply with applicable quality regulations asidentifiedby the organization while managingthe sterilization process and ancillary equipment. AlsoassistsTeam Leader inoperatingthe sterilization process to ensure quality processing.

Key Responsibilities(Top 3-5 tasks & outcomes for which this position will be accountable):

• Perform chemical receipt into Sterilization. Monitor chemical inventory of nitrogen and ethylene oxide. Connection / disconnection of hazardous chemicals to process equipment (i.e.ethylene oxide).

• Operates material handling equipment and moves material through all steps of the sterilization process.

• Documents all steps in the sterilization processin accordance withestablished proceduresincluding JDEdwards andSAPcomputerized inventory management system.

• Initiatesmaintenance ofworkorderswhen applicable.  Maintains plant facilities and equipment through “user level” preventative maintenance as defined by procedure(s).

• Ensure requiredtraining for example, Master Control and C2C are completed on/by due date. 

• Essential resource fortrainingother sterilizationassociates(i.e.Sterilization Operators).

• Assistswith various monthly reports forthe purposeof tracking departmental performance.

• Participates inthesafety team, auditactivities,and operational process improvements.

• Movement and loading of pallets via forklift.

Educational Qualifications &PreviousExperience(No. of years as well as type ofpreviousexperience needede.g.exposure to high growth markets, managed a large team,etc.):

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent, with preferably some technical or college education.

• Minimum2years material handlingexperience 

• May need to takeaFit Testand pass with/without reasonable accommodationand wear a Respirator whenrequired.

Professional Skills & Key Competencies(5-7 most relevant skillse.g.data analysisandcompetenciese.g.ability to manageuncertainty) exampleslisted below:

• Able tooperatematerial handling equipment.

• Able to prioritize tasks and workflow. Planning willtake into accountassets (time, equipment, and product) available.

• Strong leadership and motivational skillsarerequired.

Desired / Additional Skills& Knowledge(Not essential to the job but will be anadavantagetopossess):

• Inventory management experience is desirable.

• Must have good oral and written communication skills, to read andcomprehendsimple instructions and write short correspondence / memos(English is preferredlanguage). 

• Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations andapplyvarious operational tasks.

• Must be a self-starter.  

• Position requires good logic, reasoning ability, ability to defineproblems,and find logical solutions.

• Able to apply policies and procedures to work situations and use judgment in selecting appropriate actions. 

• Significant deviations from established policies and procedures will be referred to management and / or Team Leader.

Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis regularly required touse hands to finger,handle,or feel.  The employeeis occasionally required tostand and reach withhands and armsand lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Employeesarerequired tomeet with other personnel in other areas ofthe building.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee mustparticipatein annual medical surveillance for exposure to ethylene oxide and fitness to wear a supplied air respirator and employee must be able to wear atight-fitting supplier air respiratorwithoutany facial hair which could interfere with respirator seal.
