Step out of shift work and use your clinical expertise to drive safer specimen collection across VIC for a global MedTech leader

Job Description

At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.

We’re looking for a Clinical Specialist – Specimen Management to join BD on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, supporting hospitals, pathology services and clinical teams across the region.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Critical Care, Emergency, ICU or Acute Care Nurse who is ready to step into the commercial MedTech world - bringing clinical credibility, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for education.

If you’re ambitious, self‑driven and eager to make a broader impact on patient safety and sample quality, this role is your perfect entry point into the industry.

Your Day-to-Day

In this role, you’ll combine clinical expertise, education and customer engagement to support the adoption of BD’s Specimen Management portfolio and influence best practice in specimen collection across hospital and pathology labs across the VIC region.

Your day will include:

  • Delivering product training, clinical procedure education and technical support

  • Coordinating and delivering BD‑accredited RCNA courses

  • Tailoring and coordinating education programs for product trials, simulations and implementations

  • Supporting Territory Managers throughout the sales process with clinical expertise

  • Sharing clinical practice insights, competitive activity and market trends with the business

  • Maintaining accurate in‑servicing records, CRM updates and activity reporting

  • Building strong relationships with key clinicians, educators and opinion leaders

  • Supporting the development of educational materials, videos and practice guides

  • Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing and internal stakeholders to address customer needs

  • Attending clinical conferences, workshops and industry meetings

  • Providing clinical support to Territory Managers where knowledge gaps exist

This is a role for someone who loves being in clinical environments and thrives in fast‑paced, people‑focused work.

About You

You’re a confident, motivated clinician with strong technical competence and a passion for teaching and practice improvement. You enjoy engaging with clinical teams, influencing change and stepping into a role with both autonomy and support.

You’ll bring:

  • Current Registered Nurse status with minimum 3+ years in ICU, ED, Critical Care or Acute Care

  • Strong knowledge of specimen collection practices (preferred, but training provided)

  • Experience delivering adult education, clinical training or bedside teaching

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Commercial awareness or genuine interest in the MedTech industry

  • A proactive, driven mindset with a desire to grow and make an impact

  • Competence in MS Office and ability to interpret clinical data

  • Flexibility to travel locally and attend occasional interstate events

  • A valid driver’s licence

If you’re ambitious, energetic and ready to bring clinical expertise into a commercial environment — we want to meet you.
